Rating: Summary: !!!AWESOME!!! Review: I usually hate reading. I went through an Honors English class without finishing a single book the entire year. But this book was AWESOME. It was so detailed and went step by step through Kurts life. I also found out that my very own next door neighbor is Chad Channing's Brother. The old Drummer for Nirvana. SWEET!!! This is A MUST READ!!!!
Rating: Summary: At last THE TRUTH Review: After 8 years of nothing but conspiracy garbage a book that finally tells you the truth about Kurt Cobain. This book is highly recomended if you want to know about Kurt. If you want to know about ludicrous theories that he was murdered, or that Elvis is still alive and working in a supermarket you need another book.BTW, The different handwriting on the note? He wrote the first half in bed in his room, he wrote the last two lines on the floor of a greenhouse.
Rating: Summary: strongly reccomended Review: this is such an awesome book . it gives you a really good backround and a lot of insight on kurt cobains life .you feel like you know him after your done reading it and you understand somewhat why he did what he did . if you are a kurt cabain fan it is a must.
Rating: Summary: very readable Review: I love this book. While I actually agree with many of the negative points put forward by other reviewers (yes, he may have taken too many liberties with stories and psychoanalysis; yes, he may have relied more on Love's accounts than was wise) I still enjoyed the book and found it far more convincing than any of the other biographies, particularly 'Come As You Are' (horrible, horrible book). While Cross is obviously a true Nirvana fan (whatever that may be), he doesn't hero-worship, or gloss over the drug abuse that destroyed the band. The end is perhaps far-fetched, but it gave me a kind of 'closure' that I was glad to have. Bleh, that sounds so bad... but Kurt fans will know what I mean.
Rating: Summary: A compelling insight on a music legend. Review: Although I don't read very much, books like these give me an urge to read more. Kurt Cobain has always been one of my favourite rock stars ever, and this book gives so much info about his life, that you feel like you know him when you've finished reading it. The book basically talks about his messed up childhood, how Nirvana were formed, the stages that spanned his sadly shortlived career, and mostly about his serious heroin addiction. It practically talks about every event that happened in Kurt's life, even down to when he commited suicide. I'd recommend this book to every Nirvana and Kurt fan, or anyone who's even the least bit interested in him. Believe me, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Untitled Review: This book was awesome. It was also the first biography on Kurt Cobain I'd read, so at the time, I believed everything. I can't say I still do, or even that I don't, because I, and neither do you, don't really know what the true truth is. But, I think it's very well written, easy to understand, and very interesting--I couldn't put it down. But, of course, don't just read this one book--try a variety.
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever on Kurdt Review: This book is the best Nirvana book ever.It is full of Detail and very factual. It tells you loads about Kurdts Life. R.I.P KURDT.
Rating: Summary: Wasted & Sad..... Review: Charles Cross has done an excellent job profiling the life of Kurt Cobain. All chapters of Kurt's life have been examined & offered up here. From his childhood, his teen years, his girlfriends before Courtney and his all-consuming death wish. He (Kurt) was no hero, but he was significant. I appreciated the fact that Mr. Cross is obviously a Cobain fan, but didn't turn Kurt into some demi-god. There's no "Enquirer-style" gossip here, just well researched facts. I couldn't put the book down, I read it in two days.
Rating: Summary: Popstar to Nirvana junkie Review: I have a story behind this book. My brother had two copies of nevermind that he no longer listened to, and one day I took out the normal backstreet boys (I know I know, keep reading) and popped it in. Amazing. But then I found myself singing along "likes to sing along to our pretty songs" and I decided that I wanted to find out more instead of being like the guy in the song that doesn't understand. While browsing through a book store I found Heavier Than Heaven when I recognized Kurt's face on the cover. I sat down in the middle of the store and started to read the book until someone asked me to leave. I soon bought myself a copy. It is probably the best biography I have ever read. I am still young, but I read. This book has got me wanting to read more, why so many people think that Courtney killed Kurt, or it was someone in the band, I just want to know everything. This was a great book and I recomend it to anyone who knows how to read.
Rating: Summary: indepth Review: A indepth look at the life of Curt. From his formative years to his later years. it was shocking to see what he did to himself even though he had achevied what he had always wanted.
