Summary: Impressive
Review: I am not a deadite (sp?), nor am I the biggest Bruce Campbell fan in the world. I am however, a huge Brisco County Jr fan and since I couldn't find any of the series on tape, I decided to by the leading actors autobiography. This book kept me interested from start to finish. You get a taste for the actor's that are on the same playing field as the fans. Bruce Campbell, like myself, is bigger then nobody. If you don't know who Bruce Campbell is, buy the book. You'll get a taste for what hollywood is really like. (I grew up there, so I know a thing or two about it)

Summary: If my next door neighbor became a B-movie actor...
Review: I'm sure that his life story would read a lot like Mr. Campbell's. Growing up in Michigan myself, a lot of what Mr. Campbell says of his childhood resonated with me on a personal level. I can imagine all of the sorts of stunts he and his brothers pulled having been performed by kids I knew growing up.

Mr. Campbell loves what he does as an actor, and it shows, *and* he knows that in the end of the day, it's all just make-believe, and it shows. In a world of media-produced overnight sensations, and entertainment divas that think they're God's gift to humanity, this book is a refreshing breeze of sanity, clearing a lot of the "smell" that tends to hover around Hollywood.

A delightful, unpretentious little book. All the best, Mr. Campbell! Thanks for the fun!

Summary: Campbell
Review: I eagerly awaited the release of this memoir and was not disappointed. Campbell hits a home run describing his life and times. For those who enjoyed Campbell's tour de force performances in the Evil Dead series and subsequent roles in McHale's Navy, Hudsucker Proxy, and Spider Man, this serves as the perfect complement. I hope that Bruce will someday consider a follow-up.

Summary: Who is this Bruce Campbell guy?
Review: Bruce Campbell is a born story-teller. (Since it's Memorial Day weekend, I'll reach for a questionable b-b-q simile here:) Like a master of the grill, he knows just how to trim the fat from his stories and season them with just the right amounts of insite & humor to leave his readers' story-hungry mouths watering. Just open this book to any page, read one or two of the humorous anecdotes, and you'll be hooked--even if you haven't seen the "Evil Dead" movies 100 times apiece, or even if--God forbid--you don't know who in the heck Bruce Campbell is.

In his much-too-late debut, "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor," Bruce spins together a loose but always compelling narrative detailing his long journey through the jungle and many outlying swamps of show business. Bruce describes how he hit the "big time" in high-school-pal-turned-cult-horror-film-director Sam Raimi's low budget phenomenon "Evil Dead".

He tells about how he came to land roles in tv's "Hercules" and "Xena: Warrior Princess." Bruce has been in many a bad movie along the way, but he's come through it all with his humor and sense of priority refreshingly intact.

This is a great book for fans of Bruce, but I also recommend it to anyone who gets a kick out of Hollywood, or just anyone who enjoys a well-told story. I found myself repeatedly quoting bits and pieces of this book to friends as I was reading it. If you're looking for a book to bring along to the pool this summer, this is it.

Summary: Hee-Hee! Ho-Ho! Ha-Ha!
Review: Bruce Campbell's witty "If Chins Could Kill" is a side-splitting deconstruction of Hollywood. From the charming anecdotes of his impish childhood in the suburbs of Michigan to the hardship of his salad days in acting, to his recognition as a star, Campbell takes perverse delight in relating his personal story with a tongue planted so firmly in cheek as to blast out of an eye socket!

In relating his many experiences in "Hollyweird" Campbell skewers the industry, but never loses his sense of fun about it all. Even a divorce is taken in stride, without anger, bitterness or rancor, and proves to me that Bruce has something that a lot of people in show business lack - real character and integrity.

I would have liked to have seen more gut-busting anecdotes about his interaction with the cast and crew of "Hercules - The Legendary Journeys" and "Xena - Warrior Princess", but I guess he's saving all that for another book, or at least I hope he is. Even so, I was laughing out loud almost every time I flipped a page. "If Chins Could Kill" is a wildly entertaining autobiography, and a cautionary tale to anyone foolish enough to want to go into show business.

Good job, Bruce!

Highly Recommended.

Summary: Hail to the King!
Review: Most people know Bruce Campbell from the Evil Dead trilogy. He is one of the most famous "B" Actors and probably has a following greater than most "A" Actors.
Many people has complained that Mr. Campbell hardly discusses anything about the Evil Dead movies in this book. What you probably don't know is that this book is a biographie of the man and his career, from his first super8 films to present.
If you wish to know about the Evil Dead, be sure to pick the "Evil Dead Companion".

Summary: He Almost Writes Better Than He Acts!
Review: Bruce Campbell has done it again. The best (and only) biography that I have ever read! Bruce once again blew me away with his sterling wit and humour. Bruce Campbell surely is The Man.

Summary: OH MY GOSH BRUCE!!!
Review: This book is the best book I've ever read. ... This book is really neat, it's not like other actors autobiographys. Bruce makes this book something that is as great as his movies!!! I truly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the sexiest, and funniest man alive. ...

Summary: Brando, DeNiro, Campbell.....
Review: OK I was reading the newspaper here in Boca (south Florida) and I came across an article saying that Mr. Campbell has got a book coming out. Cool I thought, but nothing ever came of it then a few days ago I saw the book and decided to buy it.
It was very interesting and very entertaining, sure it lacked a little here and there but overall it did the trick. It was so nice to be badly sunburned and not have to go to work and just read a book that day! But disagree if you like but in my opinion on great actors there is only 3: Marlon Brando, Robert DeNiro, and well Bruce Campbell!
He is the best at what he does! Think about it!!! This book offers a glipse into his Marriages, family, growing up, and most importantly his life. God bless Mr. Campbell. Oh yeah 'Going Back' was touching and awesome! Buy this book if you get the chance!

Summary: Give me some sugar baby...
Review: It's Bruce Campbell. And because it's Bruce Campbell, you would expect this book to mirror his career and be campy, outrageous, filled with fake blood, and at times, horrible.

And it is - except the horrible part. The storytelling is honest, the book flows from one of Bruce's adventures to the next in a lighthearted manner - if getting covered in fake blood in the middle of the woods in the freezing cold can be considered lighthearted. Surprisingly, it is.

Bruce gives an honest recollection of his life as a B movie actor and the terrible things a B movie actor must do to become a B movie actor. Although his recent successes as a B television actor, and a few respectable roles may shake his standing in the B movie industry, Bruce is still very much cult material, and a best of breed at that.
