Summary: Good read, want more.
Review: If Bruce Cambpell isn't one of this generations most underrated actors, then I am a Chinese jetfighter pilot. His recollection of his past were both entertaining and mesmerizing. The only problem is, at the end of the book, he left me wanting to know more. That being said, I hope he entertains the notion to, perhaps, follow up with another book more closely detailing his personal feelings about his recent successes (Spiderman) and flops (Serving Sara). Overall, I say this is a good read.

Summary: The Truth About Tinsletown.
Review: Bruce Campbell is a really funny actor. He's also more talented than many people give him credit for. He's also a normal guy with a great sense of humor who hasn't lost himself in the land of "spores". His book is worth reading for all that alone.

However, it's also full of great stories about growing up near Detroit, that involve not only Bruce, but Sam Raimi and company, too. The book also tells how three total unknowns were able to make one of the most successful horror movies of all time and parlay it's success into careers in Hollywood. Of course, since they all moved out to the City of Angels, there's a lot of dirt on the movie business--glaring flaws and all.

This book is hilarious, insightful, informative, and highly engaging. It's great for any Bruce Campbell fan; anyone who has any interest in movies; or any Deadite. It also makes a great introduction for people who don't have a clue how to make a movie, but want or should learn how.

Summary: Bruce Cambell emobies passion for film.
Review: I was only a Bruce Cambell and clan (or is it Sam Raimi and clan?) fan before I read this book. Now I am a fanatic. Bruce Cambell i sthe most down to earth and respectable actor that I have yet to read about. While all other actors and actresses are stressing over the Evian in their trailor Bruce Cambell takes partin his art for a pure love of it and nothing more. Here is a guy who doesn't want to be a star, he just never wants to grow up. The book was funny, insightful and inspiring. Yes, inspiring. It tought me that if you don't have to be the best at something to love what you're doing. I read this book in two days and I highly recomend it to Cambell fans and people who don't know him from a bowl of soup.

Summary: Chins for everyone!
Review: This book is NOT just for Campbell-cult members. I picked it up purely by accident, having never seen Evil Dead or any of Bruce's work. Campbell's self-deprecating writing style is really engaging; he gives a refreshing, nuts-and-bolts account of an average joe in the movie business. The audience for "Chins" goes far beyond the typical horror-convention dweeb. Anyone who has an interest in pop culture will be genuinely entertained. Believe me--I'm hard to impress, and I really like this one.

Summary: What a life
Review: I got a real kick out of this book. Campbell is best known for his "Evil Dead" films. I've never seen those, but my husband has and he seems to enjoy them. I first saw Campbell (or at least remembered him) in "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." His book explains just what it's like to be a "B" movie actor. He seems like a decent, hard-working guy who's been having the time of his life ALL his life. More power to him.

Summary: So Much Funnier Than I Expected
Review: I am not sure why I bought this book. Although I have enjoyed many of Bruce's roles, I have to admit that I am not a die hard fan. But I did buy this book, and I loved it! I was laughing out loud at Bruce's childhood stories. It was also neat to know his story of how much time and effort have gone into being an actor and making movies. I would definitely recommend this book. Even if you are not a Bruce Campbell fan, this book is very smart and funny.

Summary: Very well done...make sure you get the paperback version
Review: as Bruce's recollections from his Chins Across America tour are really funny also.

Summary: Bruce Kills the Competition
Review: Simply put this book is the must have for Evil Dead/Bruce fans. The book is a great resource for the casual fan and Evil Deadhead, but it is his sense of humour that really steals the show.

Summary: Bruce at his best

Summary: Great Book
Review: Since I've gotten myself a life it's rare that I read a book in anything less than 6 months...That was up until I followed a whim and bought Chins. I'm not even sure what prompted me to buy it...I suppose that I bought the book because firstly - I'd heard it was a good book. Also I'd always enjoyed watching Bruce perform, and the final part of the equation: it was payday. So I bought the book, basically devoured it, and hope for another book from the man. The stories are quick and fun, a real delight to read. Buy it, even if you aren't sure, because at the very least you'll enjoy it, or you'll be like me and love it!
