Summary: Memories Can't Always Wait
Review: I received "Dancing Barefoot" in the mailbox today, apparently I got in on the first printing. Now, I rarely am able to read more than one book at a time, probably a remnant of some undiagnosed case of ADD, but after reading the first few pages of this book I set aside my current reading (Sklansky and Malmuth's "Hold 'em Poker for Advanced Players") and dove in. Here I am, a few hours later, very happy with my decision.

I was never a huge Star Trek fan. I've never been to a convention, I only own one of the films on DVD, and don't even have a Trek season pass on my Tivo. But I watched TNG as a kid, and always thought Wesley was pretty cool. After reading this book, however, I realized that while I thought Wesley was cool, Wil is someone I would actually like to hang out with. His short "Houses in Motion" reminded me of the passing of my Grandmother (I think it was the artificial Christmas Tree that pushed me over the edge). Perhaps it was because I hadn't ever had a good cry over the death of my grandma, but reading this story got me misty.

This is a great book, and a quick read too. I am looking forward to Wil's "first" book, "Just a Geek". While I wouldn't advise Wil to give up acting, I would definitely encourage him to keep up with the writing, he seems to have genuine talent.

Summary: Brilliant writer, great role model
Review: I picked this up when it was self published and have passed it around to tens of people. Wil has a great voice, totally unexpected connectivity to his readers and serves as a role model for 20 something adults everywhere.

Summary: Former Child Star? Hardly! An Author at Last!
Review: I stumbled across Wil Wheaton's website purely by accident one day, and have been hooked ever since. Sure I remember watching "Stand by Me" with my friends at slumber parties in the 80's, and I *might* have had a poster or two of Wil and some of the other stars on my bedroom walls...but Wil is nothing like the former child stars we hear so much about. Not only is he incredibly intelligent, witty, funny, and self-deprecating, but he is also a "regular Joe" with a wife, kids, a house and all of the other blessings that come with life as a thirtysomething. His "regular life" is what has kept me clicking my Favorites button on my browser for nearly two years. He expresses himself with a humility and normalcy that is unheard of in Hollyweird! His writing is fresh, off-the-cuff, and completely charming. What else can I say? Read this book! Bookmark his website! Read something real for a change! You will never be sorry....

Summary: This is a great book.
Review: I ran across Wil's writing through his website. It was only later that I realized I had seen his work in TNG. Wil's writing style is very accessible and has a way of sounding just like your inner voice. You experience what he experiences in a way that allows you to relate to things in your own life. This is a great book, you won't be disappointed! Heck, Ready or Not is worth the price of the book alone.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful
Review: Wil's book is just great. Reading each chapter I got taken right into the subject of each short story with him. I felt like I was there, seeing everything take place, maybe as a friend or one of those little bugs on a wall we would all like to be now and again. There is comedy, there is happiness, and yes even a moment of great sadness, but it's all real and takes you along for a fantastic ride.

I'm really looking forward to his next book. Luckily his website maintains an almost daily fix for his unique writing style...www.wilwheaton.net, check it out if you haven't yet. You'll be glad you did.

Summary: Just like us
Review: Wil's writing style makes you feel like you are there with him, experiencing all that he feels. A great reflection of who he is, in conjuction with what he writes on his website. I can't wait for JAG.

Summary: Shows his talent.
Review: Ever since I stumbled upon Wilwheaton.net almost three years ago, I was hooked.
This book demonstrates Wil's talent as a story teller and now author. This was one of the best buys I've made in a long time. Although the book is short, it packs a punch. You'll be greatly entertained. Can't wait for JAG!
Keep up the great work Wil!

Summary: A precious little gem of a book
Review: There is something penetratingly genuine about Wil Wheaton's writing style. This book is rather...quiet (I guess is the right word), and rather unassuming, but it left me deeply touched. And few books manage to do that...I highly recommend this read! A new fan of his website...I look forward to his future works.
