Rating: Summary: TWO MEN AND ONE VERY UNHAPPY WOMAN Review: If you've ever been interested in JFK, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette you'll want to read this book. Michael Bergin was only 23 when he met Carolyn in 1992. She was several years his senior and much more sophisticated. Rumors abound of Carolyn's rages and drug use, but Bergin fills in the rest of the story here. And what a story it is! Carolyn Bessette was a very complicated person - at once fun-loving and kind, but also irresponsible, insecure, and self centered. She became pregnant twice by Bergin and once by JFK, Jr. and aborted all three with little fanfare. One had to wonder if she'd ever heard of birth control. Shortly after marrying, she actively sought out Bergin and resumed their affair. While her husband was on a kayaking trip, she flew to LA and spent eleven days shacking up with Bergin in his apartment. Of course these stories are fascinating in an Enquirer sort of way. Bergin comes across as sincere and unassuming despite his lack of a moral compass. Carolyn was obviously a woman with deep emotional problems. She was manipulative and seemed to thrive on upheaval and melodrama. And she was a toxic force in both JFK's and Bergin's lives as she played one against the other continually. Her final legacy of betrayal was sad. Even sadder was the tragic early demise which prevented her from resolving her many problems. Don't feel guilty about reading this book. Sure its a tell all. But its also a great reminder that we are all imperfect - even the rich and famous icons we hold so dear.
Rating: Summary: absolutly wonderful Review: Lately i have had sort of an obsession with the love triangle between Michael Bergin, JFK Jr. And the beautiful Carolyn Bessette. I belive this book is exactly what happened. I belive that Carolyn and Michael were madly inlove.... and JFK jr. just happened to pop into the story one day. This book is a love story, and even though it is heart wrenching... it is worth the read because it is the truth... and is an excillent story. Way to Go Michael Bergin... im sure Carolyn is smiling.
Rating: Summary: This guy should be ashamed of himself. Review: If there was a star for ZERO, I'd mark it! He makes no sense, if he wanted to keep his relationship with Carolyn sacrad, he wouldn't be exposing all the intimate details and selling her out, even though the other customer above mine could not spell loser, he is absolutely right in everything he wrote. I sure hope Micahel Bergin gets his. He is just trying to profit off this and why now, and why after the deaths of these two gracious people. He said he wants her to rest in peace, what a crock. If he loved and valued her at all, he wouldn't expose their most intimate moments. What comes around goes around, he'll make a few books from this book, but what will he do then? He really is a low life, imbecile with no class. It doesn't surprise me if Carolyn had to polish him up a bit, he certainly didn't learn any class. Shame on you Michael. How do you live with yourself. Talk about a MAN scorned.
Rating: Summary: Don't waste your money! Review: This book is filled with lies. Don't waste your money and make this looser rich. He just wrote this book to get money because he can't find work and he's too old and ugly to model anymore! He thinks he can get away with this because Carolyn isn't here to defend herself. If he really loved this girl he would have stayed quiet and not tried to make money off of her. There was a reason she married John Jr. and that was because she loved him! This looser needs to get a life.
Rating: Summary: Finally! The truth. Review: Thank you Michael Bergin for allowing us to have the glimpse of Carolyne and John Kennedy for the flawed human beings that they were. Some may not be so keen on knowing the real facts in the name of keeping the "Camelot" image alive but I personally am weary of the Kennedy myth and see this book as refreshing. Carolyne was a sad sad individual, indeed.
Rating: Summary: Deplorable Review: ZERO Stars was not an option. While I have not read this book, I have seen the author in television interviews. I find the mere idea of it deplorable and wonder when the scurrilous and money hungry will leave the memory of these people alone. Shame on you, Michael Bergin, you are simply beneath contempt.
Rating: Summary: Exploitation once again. Review: First, Ed Smart exploits his kidnapped daughter's trevails and writes a book for money. Then, Richard Clarke does his grandstand and writes a book to exploit the tragedy of 9/11 for money. So, why should we be surprised that Michael Bergin, a pretty boy pinup model with an IQ of 85, would exploit for money the memory and relationship with a woman he suppposedly loved? He talks about Carolyn's multiple abortions, infidelities, and insecurities with a casualness of describing a season of baseball. These are dead people he is maligning, and they are unable to defend themselves. Whatever happened of "speak no ill of the dead"??? I read this book this morning, just to see if it were as bad as I expected. It is.
Rating: Summary: Way to go!!!! Review: You screwed another man's wife and you have no career... what a stud you are!!!!
Rating: Summary: A tragic story of great love and great loss. Review: Michael Bergin comes across as very genuine and sincere. He eloquently describes his insatiable desire for Carolyn Bessette and the turbulent relationship they shared. Together, they shared great joy and heartbreaking pain. One can only conclude that there was definitely a deep love, a strong connection, and an everlasting bond between Carolyn Bessette and Michael Bergin. Definitely worth reading!!
Rating: Summary: What an idiot!!!!! Review: Has this guy done ANYTHING since Baywatch??? His writing style is that of a third grader...and how dare he come out with this gossip AFTER she's dead? Who can defend her? If what this brainstem says in the book IS true, he looks like a human bobo doll being used by a very troubled, yet smart as a fox woman. She was no dummy. This dude needs to get a life. I'm so ashamed to say I let my human curiosity get the best of me and read this trash. Sorry John.......Sorry Carolyn.
