Description:
Draw your palettes! Art novices and cognoscenti alike will enjoy this colorful trivia game about painting and its history. Four oversized decks have (on one side) good-quality reproductions of 100 famous paintings--ranging from the Bayeux tapestry and earlier to Roy Lichtenstein. Throws of a die move game pieces around the board; the object (simplified quite a bit) is to fill all the spaces on your personal color palette by correctly answering the questions, or completing the various other activities, on the backs of the cards. Some questions are true or false; others ask you to identify from a multiple-choice list the artist, sitter, period, or location. The companion booklet contains thumbnail reproductions of (and information on) all the paintings illustrated in the game. (Ages 12 and older) --Richard Farr
