Rating: Summary: Beatletoons - going down memory lane Review: I remember waking up early every Saturday morning to watch the cartoon series of "The Beatles". When I heard of this book I just had to have it. Learning how the series came about and memories of the staff that worked on the cartoons was very interesting. Mitch has done an excellent job researching for this book. I read it in two days! The fastest I've ever read a book. I couldn't put it down. It also gave me the urge to pull out all my old Beatle Cartoons on video and watch them. I strongly recommend any Beatle fan or non Beatle fan to get this book! You won't regret it. This book is a must in any Beatle fans library......

Rating: Summary: Really Fab! Review: I think that this book should have come out years ago! Some of the people that worked on this series, have gone on to other Jobs,or doing other things in the animation field or in TV. The pictures were great and I hope that the book generates positive demand for the TV show for video and DVD release. Great Job Mitch!
Rating: Summary: Beatletoons Review: I was lucky enough through the world of the internet to get in contact with the author, Mitch Axelrod, and got a signed copy of this book. How lucky was I to even run across this book, not to mention the very pleasant writer. It is very apparent from reading this book of his passion for the Beatles and their cartoon series. It is the most complete book I have ever read on any topic, and the detail, interviews, overall information could not be surpassed by anyone. If you are a beatle fan, this book is a must for you. It will surely inform you of things you would never know existed regarding the wonderful cartoon series. If you have any way at all, get your hands on this book. It is truly a treasure for the price that you won't be able to put down.
Rating: Summary: A Whimsical Piece of 20th Century History Review: I was very exited to come across this material on the rarely seen Beatles Cartoons. I have many references on the Beatles but hardly ever has the cartoon series been documented or pictures been revealed for the fans to view. I found it interesting reading about the backgrounds of the various artists who contributed to the series, in particular, the ones who also worked on The Flintstones. I was delighted to see some memorabilia pictured, not much was produced, but Mitch unearthed some rare pieces. I love the whimsical sketches of the Cartoon Beatles pictured throughout the book. Maybe this piece of literature will help spawn the release of the entire series on DVD or home video. Thanks Mitch, for a job well done, and look forward to meeting you at Beatlefest in 2000!

All of the important names are here. He interviewed most of the original animators and producers of the show.Great archival photos are included, along with photos of the authors private collection of original(and elusive)production cels used in the show.Even if I didn't have tattoos of The Beatles,I would reccomend this wonderful book. This guy is the real,"Paperback Writer!"...Snake Rock

Rating: Summary: Anyone who watched the cartoons should read this book Review: If you grew up watching the Beatles cartoons you should read this book.(and even if you didn't) Lot's of great info and an enjoyable read. I've had this book for some time and still bring it out and re read it over and over. I was always looking for info on the Beatles Cartoons and this is the book you need. Now if we could only get the official release of these on DVD.
Rating: Summary: A "Must Have" Review: If you want the straight dope on the recordings, get Lewisohn. Prices... get Cox. Vinyl... get Spizer. Memorabilia... get Ausberger. And for the Cartoons, get this. Maybe someday Apple will release these Saturday morning ditties that so many of us grew up watching. Mitch Axelrod fills in all of the blanks, and adds substantially to the knowledge base of all things Beatle. A superb piece of work.
Rating: Summary: "A must for any Beatles fan!" Review: If you're a fan of The Beatles and of their classic cartoon series, this book is a must. Axelrod's enthusiasm for the Beatles cartoon jumps right off the page and keeps you interested from the very first page to the last. I'm not even a huge fan of the Beatles but I couldn't put the book down because of all of the interesting facts and circumstances surrounding the creation of the groundbreaking Beatles cartoon series.
