Summary: Callan's a helper.
Review: Hooray. At last a script marketing guide that helps playwrights too. K has done a masterful service to all who write for performance. The how, who, where of selling your hard work. Clearly presented in a logical sequence of chapters, each with action checklists. A must for every screen/stage writer's bookshelf.

Summary: Don't think of trying to sell a script without reading this!
Review: When I was searching for a useful and practical guide on how to sell a script, I decided that this book looked like the best bet. It struck me that some of the previous reviewers had been perhaps over-enthusiastic in praising it, but I now just know what they mean.

K Callan writes so easily that I made notes as I went along to make sure I didn't go too fast and miss anything! Everything is here - from the entertainment business in general, to what to wear when you meet an agent, and it is all supported by insightful quotes from agents that give you a real feel for how to see things from the agent's point of view, as well as your own.

For me, the acid test is still to come - but I didn't want to delay in telling other people that this is worth its weight in gold if you want to get anywhere in this business! By removing the ignorance, Callan empowers the reader (and writer, of course!) to stand tall amongst more experienced and prestigious writers.
