Summary: Getting past "GO"!!!
Review: This book was a fast and fun read! Lerman tames L.A. into a managable board game. With lists of "hot properties" and "Get-out-of-Jail" passes in hand, just like in Monopoly, knowing the rules and having some tools got me past "GO"!!

Summary: A guide to not being clueless in Hollywood.
Review: I have just bought this book and am already reaping some benefits. I feel as if I have a close friend helping me out, showing me the ropes and keeping me from being clueless. Indispensible guide if you are seriously thinking about becoming an actor in Hollywood.

Summary: Moved to LA, followed the steps, now I get paid to act!
Review: I grew up in NYC. I went to a few acting classes, even did a few off-off-off Broadway (but still in the city) shows. But I never got paid much, if at all.

A friend turned me on to this book when it was just a draft. It had all the essentials. Its like a business plan for getting a pain. Actually its even more than a plan, its a workbook to get work.

There's even a couple of funny stories.

Well, seeing as how I got an agent, a manager and a job using this book I thought I owed it to the authors to write this review. I wonder if they even know that Mianna gave me the draft?

And check me out in the new Volkswagon ad.

Summary: Courage & Hope
Review: At first I started reading this book simply out of curiosity and perhaps even with some disbelief. I asked myself: "how could someone write a book on such a nebulous and seemingly impossibe subject"? Does this mean that if someone from Kansas, California, Florida, or New York were to read this book and follow its advice that he or she were guaranteed success as an actor? Well, I soon discovered after turning page by page that what this book does is give a young hopeful actor the COURAGE and HOPE to venture forward unafraid and take the plunge into that special world of thespians, knowing that so many of those cloudy unknown areas of the struggle to succeed have not only been identified, but have also been cleared away with the expert and practical advice of the author. While reading this very worth while book,I couldn't help making the comparison that this book is the "Dr. Spock" book for striving actors- a must read for anyone aspiring to become an actor or for anyone who has a son, daughter or special friend seeking success in that special world of drama and make believe.

Summary: A necessary book for all actors
Review: If you are an actor, you must read this book. Most actors place the control of their careers in the hands of a few people from which they hope to recieve their "big break" . Ms. Lerman outlines the method that should be used to empower yourself by taking a proactive approach to your own career. The "Twelve Step Plan to Becoming an Actor in L.A." should be required reading in all acting classes, as important as any book used to teach acting technique. This is true whether you live in L.A., New York, or any city in between.
