Review: If you've already read Rikki Lee Travolta's "My Fractured Life" about all the pitfalls that go along with Hollywood and Broadway stars and you think you can avoid drug addiction or simply don't mind the thought of it and still want to be an actor then 12 Step Plan to Becoming an Actor in LA is the next book you need to add to your collection to take your next step. If you haven't thought about the pitfalls yet though, you really need to just to make sure you are ready to go for it.

Review: You don't even need to be an actor to love this book. All the better if you are, though. Lerman and Keller do what all good writers and spiritual (and spirited) leaders do - take us on a journey of discovery. Theirs is as much a twelve step plan to success - to becoming a working actor - as it is a guide to becoming self-aware and to unearthing and channeling your strengths. Dawn Lerman's personal stories - her own struggles and triumphs - delightfully punctuate the insights and practical advice offered by Twelve Steps. The book is a superb read and a sound investment for any inspired and aspiring actor.

Review: My Complements to the author!!! Finally a concise handbook to gently encourage and guide you through L.A. - an otherwise sprawling and random urban "jungle." Like a true pioneer, Lerman has blazed a trail that is invaluable to both actors and others who need to work and want to play in Tinsel Town.What a great idea! The book lists hip places along with a slew of pratical career tips. I finally feel like an L.A. insider!!!

Review: Even better than the first one. This one is so clear that it makes looking for work easy. Really guides you step by step through the whole process. The worksheets are really helpful in motivating you and determining if this is the profession for you. Even has lists for where to go to get everything at the cheapest prices - hair, makeup, wardrobe, car insurance, etc. Great for anyone moving to LA, even if you're a non-actor. I highly recommend it.

Review: Its like a business plan for getting your foot in the door. Actually its even more than a plan, its a workbook to get work. There's even a couple of funny stories. Well, seeing as how I got an agent, a manager and a job using this book I thought I owed it to the authors to write this review.
