Review: This book has helped me tremendously. One example that immediately comes to mind is when I went into my manager's office to drop off some stuff and the general manager was there. He ended up talking to me for two and a half hours! I wouldn't have known what to say to him had it not been for Judy's book. While we were talking he even made phone calls and sent me some emails to help me for when I move to LA in Feb 2005. Thanks Judy!

Summary: Don't bother...
Review: This book is one of the more useless books I've bought on the subject. I'd say only about 30% of the book is actually specific to acting in Los Angeles. The rest is general acting and business advice that can be applied in any city (and not all good... aka. onions for fake tears), and anecdotes from the set of Seinfeld. There are some good lists of photographers and training centers, but in general the entire book is written in hard-to-follow bulleted lists. A much better book on the acting business (even for Los Angeles) is An Actor's Business by Andrew Reilly.

Review: This book is wonderful! I really wanted to get an agent, but I was not sure how. I took Mrs. Kerr's advice in the book and guess what....I HAVE AN AGENT!!!!!!! She answers so many questions about the bussiness. Every aspect of acting from headshots to plastic surgery and even nudity is disscussed in this book. BUY IT! IT'S GREAT!

Review: This is a great book for the professional actor and the aspiring actor. If you are in LA or plan on moving there, this book is a necessity. It gives you the ins and outs of the acting industry and will keep you from making expensive mistakes.

Review: When I opened this book I had no idea it would be so informative that I would read the entire thing that very day. This is the best acting book I have ever read. I found a lab, a retoucher, a reproducer, a web designer and many other useful tools that I personally used from the book. Not only does Judy list these types of services, but there is also some extra information about almost every one of them. There has been at least 20 websites I have used from the listings in the book. I can not say enough about this book. It has information for everyone from the novice to the professional actor. This is a MUST HAVE!

Summary: The best acting book I've ever read
Review: Wow! This book was so good and it was packed with so much information. I loved it. It tells you everything you'll need to know about acting. It starts off answering the questions of what is acting and can acting be taught followed by many quotes from famous actors. It discusses all the different types of acting teachers, like cold reading and audition technique teachers, private coaches, voice teachers, etc. It also goes into talking about photographers and agents. It goes over resumes and pictures and has samples of resumes and pictures. What I was most pleased with was the fact that she named several impressive and skillful acting coaches and photographers,etc. Plus, if you don't already live in California it has a section on how and when to move to California. She was very honest and positive which I greatly appreciated. She had so much information packed in this one book. It's definitely worth it's money. I can't even begin to tell you how excellent this book truly is. If you don't already have it, I highly recommend that you buy it as soon as possible.
