Rating: Summary: A Must Have for all Manic-Depressives Review: When I was first diagnosed with this illness, I was lost and confused. This book answered many of my questions and made me realize that there was hope and positive days in my future. It especially helped when reading her next book "A Brilliant Madness". It gave me more insightful information that helped me not feel so hopeless and lost. I recommend these books above all the others that I have read at this time.
Rating: Summary: Search for Identity Review: While one has to applaud Patty Duke's attempt to come to grips with her experiences, one can also be critical of her presentation and her borderline psychobabble with which she excuses her behavior. The first third of the book is better than the remainder which descends into trite and cliched writing; Kenneth Turan evidently didn't do his job. Recommended only for fans or those who share her condition.
