Rating: Summary: Another diet or a plan of action for life? Review: When I see the word "diet" I cringe. Literally. I hate diets because who wants to be told what to eat, what not to eat. It all seems so controlling. Well, what is useful about this book is that they have a chart that shows if you are healthy, overweight or obese. Then, you get to choose how many calories you should be consuming a day. I was amazed at how many calories they said I could consume. Surely, this can't be a diet? Lately all you hear is that you are more than likely not eating enough if you can't lose weight. And to a point, that might be true. This book has a plan of action and recipes: The 3 Step Plan Breakfast and Brunch Starters and Snacks Salads Beef, Pork, and Lamb Poultry Fishy and Seafood Meatless Main Dishes Sides Desserts Exercise 101 Some of the recipes you might enjoy: Fruited Granola Super Soy Smoothies (soy is so good this way!) Fruit Kabobs Beef Satay with Spicy Peanut Sauce West Indies Chicken with Fruit Fish Cakes with Green Goddess Sauce Flax Seed Corn Bread Mango and Raspberry Tart The pictures are almost as tasty as the recipes. When you see the picture for the Mocha Pudding Cake, you don't even have to make it. Just stare at the picture and you can literally taste the gooey cake made with applesauce to replace the butter. Now, that I don't mind. Applesauce is good as a butter replacement and actually makes cakes more moist if that is the desired effect. Beautifully designed book! I'd say this is good for anyone who wants to make healthy meals that can be presented in a very stylish way.
