Summary: update please!
Review: I really admire the idea behind this book; however, I admit I felt a pang of disappointment when I went to pick it up at the library and first got a look at its Technicolor 70s cover. Much of the recipes inside were just as dated, and just don't reflect the way people eat today. I did gain something from the storage tips and the other items in the appendix, and the book was not altogether a bust, but I'm glad I didn't purchase it. I'm also a little confused because I'm not sure if this is simply an earlier edition of the 1984 book "The Use-It-Up Cookbook: A Guide for Minimizing Food Waste" (note the different subtitle) by the same author. If so, does the later book include any updated recipes? Still, 1984 was a long time ago too, so Lois, if you're still writing, how about something for the new century?
