Summary: Absolutely fabulous! Delicious! Scrumptuous! Luscious!
Review: Dr. Joy Johnson is the quintessential sensuous gourmet-- and with her cookbook...anyone else can be too! I am not even a total vegan and I enjoy her recipes. They're healthy, easy to make and most of all a delight to your body, mind and soul. Buy the book!! Buy two and give one to a friend! It's a "Joy"-ful celebration of vegetarian cuisine!

Summary: Great recipes, especially for novice vegetarians
Review: I have owned a copy of Joy Johnson's "The Sensuous Gourmet" for about a year now, and have nothing but superlative recommendations for it. It is simply written, sufficiently so that a fledgling vetetarian cook can follow it. The recipes do not require a trip to Tibet to find the ingredients. I am a novice vegetarian, and perhaps would have "converted" long ago if I had access to the types of recipes which Joy Johnson provides in this book. Everything I have tried so far has been successful, and delicious. The format of the book makes it easy to follow and update.

Summary: Misleading Title
Review: I ordered this book expecting it to be lavishly illustrated and jam-packed with beautiful pictures. The lead title, "Sensuous Gourmet" implies it will stimulate your senses. It didn't. The typesetting and home-grown notebook format was neat and orderly, but not "sensuous". Unfortunately, there's nothing new in this cookbook that hasn't been done better somewhere else. I ended up returning this uninspired book. This is unusual for me because I am an avid cookbook collector and a longtime vegan. Thumbs down on this one.
