Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An Affirmation of Diversity-Savioring Int'l Foods with Flair
Review: This wonderful cookbook is published as a scholarship fund-raiser for the Concordia Language Villages. From these ten "Villages" come fun & very flavorful easy recipes offering "mouth-watering reasons for you to travel tastfully around the world". You will delight in promoting the link between language, culture and cuisine by exploring the authentic foods and favorite ethnic dishes which you'll "relish in offerings of haute and humble, rural and urban" fare. Hearty and satisfying dishes such as Minnesota Wild Rice Soup and a wonderful version of Beef Stroganoff contrast against bold and lighter fare such as Szechwan Prawns, Zesty Danish Meatballs and Zacatecas Tacos. Fun anecdotal forwards begin each recipe acclimating the chef to the recipes ethnic origin or suggestions for any variation which you may like to try as well. The hardcover, spiral-bound book lays flat for convenience and contains a nicely cross-referenced index, fun picture-filled examples of the language camp villages and a clear, easy presentation. A very nice gift or addition to your cooking library. Bon Appetit!
