Rating: Summary: Wonderful addition to any cookbook collection!! Review: I first owned Kitchen Companion by Polly Clingerman and was so impressed that I added Dinner Companion. I reference these books daily! The Dinner Companion provides easy to prepare dishes with common ingredients. I haven't made a dish yet that my family WON'T eat! Polly's suggestions, hints, tips and tricks are invaluable. A MUST for any cook!
Rating: Summary: Tasty! Review: I like the straight forward approach to this book. For instance, the author gives a bunch of simple, easy-to-make sauces for pasta, or things to do with rice, beef, pork. Many of the actual recipes have an around-the world flair since the author has lived all over the world with her ambassador husband. Linda Fry Kenzle, author of Gathering
Rating: Summary: Awesome! Most useful cookbook I own. Review: This book uses normal ingredients and the recipes are wonderful! The "what to do with ___" tables, which list ideas for cooking particluar types of food (chicken, for example), are the best, most useful part of the book. They provide a quick reference for flavor combinations, all of which are very tasty. This book is a great resource for making impressive meals with normal ingredients and not much time in the kitchen. I give it to my busy friends who want to prepare flavorful, healthy meals.
