Summary: An important reference book
Review: Having been raised in the South, I've started researching how our foodways have been effected by the African culture. Surprisingly, the subject is not documented very well. However, Paige's book is an excellent place to start! He has included lots of footnotes and a lengthy bibliography.

I've only given it 4 stars because I found several typographical errors. Don't let that stop you from reading this book! I found it interesting and fun! It even includes recipes! Yum!
