Review: If you grew up in the 50's and 60's these are some of the cooking basics. Placed among advice for cooking and life are the recipes I grew up with: meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, pot roast, blueberry muffins, apple pie,lemon meringue pie and the original chocolate chip cookie recipe. There are recipes for kugel, dinner rolls, creamed chicken, meatballs, brisket, chopped liver, corned beef and cabbage and coffee cake. This little book seems to have all the comfort food in the world! You do not have to be a cook to use this book.You have to like to eat.I have given this as a gift to mom's too busy to learn to cook, gourmet cooks and young adults just starting off on their own. I think it is a great hostess gift or a quick read for your own enjoyment.
