Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Informative, concise, to the point and BRILLIANT!!
Review: This is one of the most straightforward books you will find on wine anywhere. It has at least 300 color photographs and gives an introduction into the history of wine before going on to the regions in which the world's wine is produced. The Red Wine Companion is fantastic for those seeking to a little culture by learning about wine. After reading this book, you are well prepared to pick out a modest priced Pinot Noir, or a expensive Bordeaux, for even the best vintage of each wine is made clear in the book. Full of facts and interesting notes of some of the vintners, you can go ahead and impress your friends with your knowledge. If wine is your pleasure, and you won't mind some simple advice on making choices, this is the book. The only other wine book you will need after this one is The White Wine Companion!! To the author, thanks for making the complex world of wine simpler and FUN!!!
