Summary: Beer Guide?
Review: This "complete" guide to beer is not as complete as it sounds. It does a good job of introducing many of the major styles and some of the lesser, and it also lives up to its name as far as a list of name brands around the world. Is it complete? No! I found that in trying to explain large quantities of information, it either generalized too much or left out many of the details that some beer lovers would love to have. Did I like the book? Yes! I would use this as a quick reference guide more than an encylopedia (as I think that it was listed). I found that the short blurbs about the history, structure, and availability of certain beers were wonderful. If read as a "guide" and not a major reference for detail, it is very companionable! I actually found that reading the book was not bad, but if I wanted anything in detail, I had to run to other sources. For the money, it was worth it!
