Rating: Summary: A great vegetarian cookbook from the Bloodroot Collective Review: This is the third feminist vegetarian cookbook published by the Bloodroot Collective. There is a myth that vegetarian cooking is bland and therefore boring. The recipes from any books of this series quickly dispell that notion. This book is divided into sections by season, each section including soups, salads, and entrees. The recipes may all be meatless and often without dairy, but the results are very satisfying. The scope is international. A Russian soup called Chlodnik is one of the simplest and best recipes I've found for an quick summer soup. Their spinach pesto is another easy, satisfying dish. And a vegetarian version of Szekely goulash is a healthier take on a Hungarian classic which includes a wonderful, though rich cabbage strudel. Not all of the recipes are as easy as the ones I have mentioned, but you are likely to find some, if not many, that you will want to make over and over.
