Rating: Summary: Deliciously Simple Review: I enjoy this cook book because the recipes are simple and very tastey. These recipes are not tempermental and can be easily modified if necessary (diet restrictions, preference). I like to give it as gifts.
Rating: Summary: Have used it for years Review: I have enjoyed this cookbook for 10+ years! My husband turned up with a poultry and beef intolerance and I needed ideas for meal w/three kids. There a few tried and true that I use over and over and have shared with friends at work. Definetly worth the purchase price.
Rating: Summary: Great for the Cook with a Reluctant Vegetarian Family Review: This book suits my needs - as the main cook in a family who resists eating anything "funny," I was looking for recipes that would suit my semi-vegetarian needs AND those of the meat-lovers.Although it was written long ago, I found mine recently on the shelves of a major book chain and trotted it home. I have used it for family dinners as well as potluck dinners, and never had a complaint! This large size cookbook looks like it was hand-written (the old hippie style) and has recipes from Breakfast to Dessert. The recipes are divided by category. If you are a serious vegetarian, concerned about health, you might want to pass this one up - lots of eggs, butter, cheese. But if you're trying to fix good meals with less red meat for friends or family who think all vegetarian meals are made of kale and tofu, check this cookbook out - although it does have meals using kale and tofu (and other 'wierd' foods, to paraphrase my sons) it also has a lot of recipes that will please veggie-phobics!
