Summary: Great Results
Review: I have owned the same bread machine for four plus years. My machine has gotten more of a workout in the last six months than in the previous three and a half years combined. It's all thanks to this wonderful book. These recipes put to shame the blah ones that came with my machine. I wish I could say I've tried every recipe in this book and that they are all wonderful, but I can't. I can say that I have tried several recipes from various categories - all with great results. The only MINOR dissapointment was the pizza dough recipe I tried. I emphasize minor because it was a fine crust - just not the "perfect" crust I have been in search of. I did however find that "perfect" crust in the follow-up book - "More Bread Machine Magic". There are recipes in this book for everthing from rye bread to wheat bread to bread with sunflower seeds to dinner rolls all the way up to cinnamon rolls. One of the greatest treasures of this book is Dennis's Blarney-Stone Bread. Why? My husband does not care for wheat bread. He prefers white and I want to put something a bit more nutritious on our plates. DBSB looks, tastes and feels just like plain ol' white bread but contains a whole cup of rolled oats (oatmeal). He didn't even notice the difference. If you fall in love with this book like I did, you'll have bread on the counter and in the freezer all the while waiting for it to disappear so you can go on to try out the next interesting recipe.

Summary: Will purchase a more updated bread machine book soon . .
Review: I have to agree with the reviewer who called this book "outdated." My bread machine, while not a brand-new, top of the line model, has more features and settings than this book references. For example, the book often instructs you to set your bread machine on "Bake." Well, is that Basic, French, normal, rapid, etc.? I find myself having to guess at which settings to use, often resulting in mediocre-tasting bread with a dry texture. The tiny recipe book that accompanied my bread machine is very limited, but at least when I use any recipe found in there I get perfect bread. This book leaves much to be desired.

Summary: My Favorite!
Review: I have used a bread machine for years and have accumulated upwards of 12 bread books, this being one of my top two favorites. As someone else said, it is getting pretty ragged from use. The measurements used, work perfectly with my Hitachi machine. I love it!

Summary: Dog-eared keeper
Review: I own several bread machine recipe books, and this one is the raggiest of them all. The pages are bent to reveal favorite recipes, there are smudges all over the pages, and I've scribbled my own comments in the margins. I've learned that I can trust what the authors say in their comments. This one is a keeper!

Summary: Very helpful!
Review: I was a first time bread machine user and this was one of the first books I used. It was very helpful with easy explanations and practical recipes, using ingredients that we were apt to have on hand. It is the first bread recipe book that I turn to now.

Summary: Every recipe is great!
Review: I've had this book, as well as More Bread Machine Magic, for several months now and have tried about a dozen of the recipes in both books. Not one has been a disappointment yet. Every bread I've made has been wonderful! The authors must have spent a lot of time perfecting the recipes. The variety of recipes is terrific. I'm sure popular at gatherings now when I bring bread!

Summary: Good book but not perfect
Review: This book was given to me as a gift with my bread machine. It has some great recipes but I tend to find some don't even work out. I follow the recipe and try them twice at least but it just doesn't work and I don't like the fact this book doesnt have recipes for a larger machine. I have a 2lb machine and 5 children to feed so would like larger loaf recipes. But not a bad book. Worth having in your collection if not for the roll recipes alone.

Summary: ABSOLUTELY THE BEST
Review: This is absolutely the best book on baking with bread machines--bar none! I've had a bread machine for years--I love the homebaked flavor and texture and aroma, but not the time it takes to do it all by hand--and have purchased many books with recipes for bread machines. None of them could even begin to live up to this one. Besides the basics, there are recipes for filled breads, sweet breads and pastries--like the scrumptious recipe for cinnamon rolls. I live in Europe but found that this book works well here--all I needed was a set of American measuring cups and spoons and the recipes were perfectly adaptable. I used to make all of my bread "by hand" and welcomed the advent of the bread machine. Now things have improved by leaps and bounds with the arrival of this book. I really can't praise it highly enough. I'd give it ten stars if I could!

Summary: No Fail Bread Machine Book
Review: When I first purchased a bread machine about 8 yrs ago, I bought many of the books available on the subject. This was THE best, every recipe turns out and they are inventive recipes. This is the only book you need if you have a bread machine. Happy baking!
