Rating: Summary: The Party Girl Cookbook Review: Fun 'n' fab 'n' filled with facts, this great book is the perfect answer to the question, "What should we do next weekend?" If you're a vegetarian like me who gets sick of being offered hot dogs at unimaginative 4th of July barbecues, you'll love the wide variety of offerings listed here. Spicing up the recipes are all kinds of party ideas and great trivia--who knew there were so many verses of "The Star Spangled Banner"? These authors did, and they've served all those verses up, along with 300 pages of other info, contest ideas, inventive invitations, costume recommendations, suggested soundtracks, and decorating details. This book makes throwing the party as much fun as attending.
Rating: Summary: Fun and Helpful Party Tips! Review: Having thrown a few parties in my time, I know the frustrations and annoyances that most "party" cookbooks serve up to the ambitious host/ess. Hours of prep, cooking and clean up for a few minutes of fun. Not with the party girls! Their easy recipes and fun, imaginative themes make you WANT to throw a party. And since there are two themes per month (and some are pretty ...unique) you have no excuse not to. I have made about a dozen of the recipes and have found them as easy and tasty as advertised. I know I sound like a commercial for this book, but I really have enjoyed it. I highly recommend it.

Rating: Summary: The Party Girl Cookbook Review: I own many cookbooks designed to facilitate easy entertaining and this book is one of the worst I have ever purchased. There is no guidance as to what can be made ahead or frozen. It is written in paragraph form and difficult to follow. There are no pictures just a lot of writing. If you are looking for "cute" party themes then this is the book for you, but if you want to simply plan and hostess a party with tasty recipes then there are many other cookbooks that will provide more useful information.
I felt the same way about the Last Minute Party Girl. It was sold as a two book set and there was nothing "last minute" about the recipes.
Rating: Summary: The Party Girl Cookbook Review: I've ready hundreds of books on entertaining and believe I have finally found my kindred spirits. Known as a "party girl" myself, I am frequently planning something between home and work. This book has given me many great ideas that I can't wait to mold into my own party repertoire. If you are looking for a book to plan your next soiree, this is the book for you. Kudos to Lara and Nina! I can't wait until they write another.
