Summary: Fantastic!
Review: This book is for all of us that do not live in (or regularly visit) beautiful Athens Georgia. Sheer distance keeps most of the world from enjoying a truly remarkable and great eating experience at the Grit. While the book does not capture the beauty and atmosphere of the actual building the Grit inhabits, it does reveal the recipes of the exceptionally wonderful meals one can get at the Grit. Buy this book if you like simple, real, whole, delicious food. Better yet, make a point to visit the Grit. You won't be disappointed either way - great restaurant, great cookbook.

Summary: Yum!!!
Review: Though I don't live far from Athens, I've never been to The Grit, that I've heard so much about -- but now I have the cookbook to try to make their dishes myself!

The Yeast Gravy is fantastic as is The Grit Tofu (a basis for several recipes). Though I haven't tried making any yet, the cakes sound incredibly delicious!!

Review: Wow, where to even begin?

If you have ever lived in Athens, GA and had the pleasure of going to The Grit than you can stop reading right now b/c this cookbook is chock full of that same stuff that kept you coming back again, and again, and again.

If you have not been to Athens and experienced The Grit this is the next best thing. Southern soul food with a twist? Maybe. It's just plain good, folks.
