Summary: This sure helped in my weight loss goals!
Review: I bought this cookbook because I was in the process of trying to lose 20 pounds through Weight Watchers. This book had all the information I needed to help convert to the right "points". But best of all, the recipes are wonderful! With only one exception, every recipe has been very flavorful, quick and easy to prepare, and I have kept using the book even after reaching my goal weight because I have been so happy with it. The recipes do not taste "low-fat, low-cal, etc." They are good enough to serve company! Definitely recommended!

Summary: Easy, delicious and healthy
Review: I have used the book to prepare various dishes from completely vegetarian to meaty and I am very pleased with the results. I especially like the nutrition information that accompanies each recipe and also the serving tips. My husband who is usually less enthusiastic about the word "healthy" truly enjoys the scrumptious dishes I put together. Overall, it's a book everyone who is health-conscious should have in the shelf.

Summary: Generally good recipes, with a few not-so-hot ones
Review: I'm a big Betty Crocker fan, so this seemed like a natural purchase for me. And I haven't regretted buying it - the recipes are, by and large, great! Like another reviewers says, they don't taste low-fat or low-calorie - they just taste good.

However, about one out of every five recipes I try is a dud. Even if the recipe is loaded with flavorful ingredients, they seem to cancel each other out and leave a bland mess. And sometimes I feel the cookbook doesn't provide clear enough directions for the recipes, and as a result I get, well, bad results (incorrect textures, thicknesses, etc.) even though I'm more than a novice cook.

Still, don't let this stop you from purchasing this book. There are so many good recipes in it that I recommend it to anyone I know who's interested in eating in a more healthy way. Enjoy!

Summary: I Can't BELIEVE this is Healthy Eating!
Review: Just 6 weeks ago, my 49 year old husband had a mild heart attack. That ALONE can change your life forever. When his cardiologist said for him to eat low fat, low cholesterol foods I clearly remembered 15 years ago the two of us attempting to lose some weight and trying to find some low fat meals that we enjoyed. I must admit those memories of tasteless, dry, and mundame meals made me shudder, but I decided to get to the computer and see if there were any cookbooks that had some "decent sounding" recipes and good reviews. (Taking someone's word about meals is precarious because one has no way of knowing the others' taste is foods, but I thought I'd give it a try.) And so I found Betty Crocker's (one of my all time favorite cookbook authors!) "Healthy New Choices" I decided to order it and see what I could come up with.

Since the day I received it I have been using it almost every night and we just can't BELIEVE that this is anything but DELICIOUS and INTERESTING food that is prepared relatively quickly and with no trips to a "specialty market" for ingredients! My husband was truly a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy, and one who just LOVED tasty, and enticing meals. HE IS NOT DISAPPOINTED with ANY of the recipes I have made so far, and I haven't even BEGUN to get through the whole book.

A few of our favorites are Thai Scallops and Noodles, Oriental Barbecued Chicken, and the Chocolate Chip Cookies. ALL the recipes in the book have the Nutritional Information right on the same page as the recipe so one can be assured that what they are making is indeed the "right thing" for your family's special needs.

I would recommend this cookbood to any and ALL of you who want to eat both healthily and enjoyably!

Summary: A "MUST HAVE" for WW members
Review: Simply wonderful. The book has delicious recipes with ingredients that most people would have on hand. The nutritional analysis includes fiber, so WW members can easily figure out points. After sharing my cookbook with others, 3 more people have bought it. It will take quite awhile to get through all the new recipes that I want to try. I haven't been disappointed yet.

Summary: My Favorite Quick, Healthy Cookbook
Review: This is a wonderful cookbook. The recipes are simple and use easy to find ingredients. The preparation time is very short and the food is very flavorful. Many of the recipes have a distinct regional flair to them, but are made with ingredients readily available in your local grocery store.

In short, my favorite cookbook for the busy cook looking to serve interesting, healthy dinners to his or her family.
