Rating: Summary: Yummy recipes ! I use and reuse the book Review: The recipes may be a bit long, but they taste so great you won't regret your time. Enjoy and share these delicious cruelty-free foods !
Rating: Summary: simple Review: These recipes are fairly simple, but may not be detailed enough if you're brand new to the kitchen. The ingredients are common and easy to find. This simplifies your shopping, but does lead to some repetition among the recipes. The dishes I have tried have been tasty and satisfying. Unfortunately, there is no nutrition information given. A cookbook I use a lot more is "The Mediterranean Vegan Kitchen" by Donna Klein.
Rating: Summary: Wonderfully simple recipees Review: This book contains wonderfully simple recipees for delicious, eye-appealing vegan dishes. It features dishes with grains, potatoes, salads, dips and sauces. We have enjoyed every recipee we have tried so far.
Rating: Summary: Definitely the BEST THERE IS Review: This book kicks some major fanny. I'm not a true vegan, but I try to eat vegan as much as I can. This book has been a tremendous help. The recipes are straightforward, simple, and help get the creativity in the kitchen going. This was my first vegan cookbook, and may turn out to be my only vegan cookbook. If you're vegan, you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: I'm impressed! Review: This book lives up to its name: I've cooked two of the soup dishes so far, and they ARE easy AND delicious! I am an absolute non-cook, so if I can make these dishes, anyone can! Really nutritious ingredients too, and it's possible to substitute for exotic ingredients (i.e., regular cabbage for Chinese cabbage, etc.) I'm excited to try more recipes in this book. Solomon has made it brain-dead for those of us who are culinarily-challenged- thanks!
Rating: Summary: Shonna Review: This cookbook has some wonderful recipies even if you aren't Vegan. I do not happen to be Vegan but my boyfriend is and living together and cooking meals that we both liked was a nightmare. So I figured, what the hell, I could use the help and ideas and I ordered the book. I was surprised! The meals are not only delicious but incredibly easy to make (even my boyfriend can handle it). The Sizzling Black Bean Soup is amazing! So tasty, us meat eaters couldn't believe it was animal free. So, if you are looking for a middle ground for the vegan and non-vegan household this is the way to go. Cruelty/animal free recipies that are actually delicious. In fact, the recipies are so good, I hardly cook meat much anymore at all. Believe me, it will save you many kitchen headaches! You won't be sorry you tried it.
Rating: Summary: This is a great cookbook. Review: This is a great vegetarian cookbook. It is concise and not overwhelming, especially to someone just beginning to get into vegetarian cooking. It would be perfect if it had pictures. Most of the recipes are quite simple to make. They include many of the most delicious items of the beautiful vegetarian table that we are so lucky to have so readily available today in marketplaces all over this country. The Quinoa Pilaf was really good. The Rigatonni with Ratatouille Red Sauce also was great and all were fairly easy to prepare. I have many vegetarian cookbooks, including many that are much more expensive and much more "trendy," but I keep coming back to this one. Also, I know I enjoy it because it's the only one I've have felt compelled to write a review of.
Rating: Summary: Great book Review: This is a wonderful book. Every recipe I have tried has been very tasty. My mom borrowed it and then bought it for herself after I asked for it back. The recipes are very easy and don't call for a lot of exotic ingredients. This was worth every penny.
Rating: Summary: This is my favorite cookbook! Review: This is everything you could ever want in a cookbook. The recipes are healthy, simple, and yummy. I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend the time to eat well.
Rating: Summary: Nutritious and Delicious! The best vegan cookbook there is! Review: This is one of my favorite cookbooks, and I own several hundred, including 40-50 vegetarian cookbooks and over a dozen vegan cookbooks. The recipes are full of the most nutritious vegetables, greens, and grains, combined with great spices. You'll find many recipes for a variety of greens, not just spinach, and for a variety of grains, not just pasta. And the finished recipes are a pleasure for the eyes as well as the taste buds -- bursting with color. Many of the foods recent studies have found to be extremely nutritious are included -- high antioxidant sweet potatoes and squashes and red peppers -- high fiber beans and whole grains. As an added bonus, many recipes will take well to freezing, so you can cook in volume and freeze for workday lunches. All in all, an impressive, extremely nutritious and delicious cookbook. You won't be disappointed with this one.
