Summary: Delicious meals and Deadly deals
Review: This book was written from the heart, and as every Italian knows, the way to the heart is through the stomach. Mr.Ianuzzi combination of true-life exploits and culinary mastery produce a cultural expose' that helps define a way of life that few of us will ever experience. WHAT-EVER ! The "CAPONARA" is to die for and the Marinara Sauce should be illegal! In other words, this book is a must for every kitchen! A compliment cookbook to Joe Dogg"s is Dom Deluiese's: "Eat this , it'll make you feel better"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Outstanding recipies with bold flavors
Review: This cookbook blew away several other Italian recipie books I've tried. Unusual ingredients blend to make mouth watering flavors. The marinara sauce in unequaled in flavor.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A "Must-Have" cookbook!
Review: This is one of the cookbooks I turn to often. Most of the recipies are easy to prepare, and absolutely delicious! Naturally, my favorite is Shrimp Scampi Gambino Style, but any of the recipies in here are sure to get you rave reviews. This is my second copy...like a fool I loaned out the first and never saw it again! The stories in it are cute, but a little on the made-up side, sort of like he's telling you what he thinks you want to hear. But none-the-less, an indespensibe book!

Summary: Tastes May Vary
Review: This little book is more than worth it's weight! Even with concrete shoes.

If you have a certain dark sense of humor, the anecdotes in this book are hilarious!!! Though some recipes may not be 100% "authentic" they are delicious...and if he was willing to serve powdered garlic to someone who might blow his head off on a whim, I'm willing to take the chance too.

The Orrechiette with Prosciutto and Peas, and the Rice Pudding made with ricotta and lemon, are now standards at my house.

Summary: Great Gift , Great Recipies!
Review: What a great gift, great stories and most of all great recipies! Not just another cookbook. This one has more spice then you could ever add to any dish. I bought several to give out as gifts and the reaction was soooo positive that more friends now want one.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Charming but not comprehensive
Review: When I saw the title of this cookbook I couldn't resist buying it if only for the novelty of the thing. I imagine many of you reading this have the same reaction. The little stories with each recipe would have fit right in as scenes for "Goodfellas", but with one exception, the recipes are fairly standard Italian-American fare. The lone exception is the Ricotta-Rice Pudding which I find absolutely fabulous. I didn't know so much sugar could fit into one dessert! It's delicious!

Summary: Guns, Gambino and Gnocchi
Review: Where else can you learn to make Giambotta like "old school" and discover how one unloads 580 pounds of Columbian Gold for a sizeable profit? The authors mix tales of Mafia Men at their best, either "whacking" or "persuading" reluctent individuals, along with the classic combinations of tomatos, olive oil and garlic. This book belongs right next to your copy of The Joy of Cooking.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Fun book
Review: You really can't compare a cookbook with mob stories to much.... but it's a lot of fun. I especially reccomend the stuffed rice pudding recepie and the northern style chicken vesuvio.
