Summary: Excellent for beginner and experienced cook alike.
Review: Classic Home Cooking is an excellent reference for both novice cooks and those with lots of experience. It is organized in an easy to follow manner, with plenty of pictures to help with presentation. I have prepared dozens of recipes from the book and all have been great. I especially enjoy the creative vegetarian dishes and the vegetable and salad sections.

Summary: Very helpful even for a semi-beginner cook!
Review: I love this book! I actually checked it out in the library (and now I"m going to order it) because I was looking for specific recipes, and it contained every recipe for which I was looking-- and the recipes are great! I made the banana cream pie and found out that this recipe also makes incredible caramels. It is very easy to read, has pictures of EVERY recipe at the beginning of each chapter/type of recipe, and even I can make these recipes with great success (and I'm not yet much of a cook but everyone loved my banana cream pie!)

Summary: I love this book!!
Review: I might as well throw out the rest of my cookbooks, because this is the one I use 99.99% of the time. The directions are explained very clearly and the book contains a wealth of recipes. It also doesn't require you to have a lot of fancy kitchen gadgets or exotic ingredients.

Summary: Excellent Gift for NewlyWeds
Review: I received this as a gift from a friend, and it is an excellent source for cooking. If you want to give a couple a great gift--this is one that qualifies. I cooked out of this book for awhile. Best features of this book are the photos and clear format on white background. A MUST HAVE for every kitchen!

Summary: An excellent book for beginners
Review: The simple clear writing style and helpful photos make this book an excellent resource for someone with little cooking experience who wishes to learn more than the basics. Every stage in each recipe is explicitly spelled out and is presented in a clear and concise fashion. The breadth of the recipes is fairly extensive covering everything from appetizers to baking bread. Ms. Berry's writing style is no-nonsense and completely un-pretentious and the recipes are helpfully organized and sorted by preparation time. In all a valuable resource

Summary: Great book with fantastic pictures
Review: This book is practically a coffee table cook book. There are pictures of every single recipe. They also include pictures of many of the preparations, as well as many different suggestions on each recipe. At the beginning of each chapter recipes are classified into economical, ethic classic, hearty meal, traditional, and family choices. Using this classification method as well as the picture really helps you figure out if this recipe is going to work for the people you are going to serve. I have tried several of the many recipes in there, and I have had great results. This book would be perfect for somone starting out, or even someone trying to refreshen up their recipe rotation.

Summary: A wonderful cookbook
Review: This is a great cookbook with a lot of nice photos. I purchased this cookbook but had to return it due to the small font sizes used in the latest edition. I had difficulty reading the ingredients when standing and the book is placed on the kitchen table. I purchased the older edition instead. It has a larger font and the price was much cheaper. I compared 4 recipes from the 2 editions and noticed all the ingredients were the same.
