Summary: More than just cheesecake!
Review: The only reason that I wanted this cookbook was for the cheesecake recipe but there's so much more. I've tried the chili, the eggcreams and I'm about to make the lemon meringue pie. I made the cheesecake for Christmas and since then I've been asked to make it for every family gathering and occasion since. I know the recipe by heart now. I highly recommend it!

Summary: I hope you enjoy our cookbook and the nostalgia!!
Review: The Rosen family hopes you enjoy the work of our lifetime. The cookbook features over 100 of our signature menu items. These recipes intermingled with great slices of Brooklyn history are yours to enjoy. We have already received many thanks for the recipes of such famous items as cheese blintzes, rugelach, matzoh ball soup, shrimp scampi, challah bread and cheesecake. We look forward to hearing from more satisfied customers on-line or at our restaurant in downtown Brooklyn, New York. Welcome To Junior's we hope you enjoy your meals!

Summary: WOW!
Review: This book is great. All the recipes we have tried worked and were delicious. I don't know how the other reviewers' recipes didn't work, but mine did. I am an accomplished cook/baker and this is a good book to have on hand. Their coleslaw is the best, their rolls are mouth-watering, don't even start me on the cheesecake! I could go on, but you get the point. Add this book to your shelf - you will not be sorry.

Summary: Should include the REAL recipes for Cheesecake
Review: This book is sold largely on offering the Junior's Cheesecake recipe. I find it distasteful to find that they offer some cheesecake recipes, while keeping their own recipe secret. Poor form.

Summary: Nice look back at the history of a neighborhood & good food.
Review: WELCOME TO JUNIOR'S is as much of a nostalgic look back at one of this country's most famous urban communities as it is a cookbook. The authors trace the background of Brooklyn and its many different immigrant groups from the 1800s through the present day. In addition, there is a pleasant narrative of the restaurant's history from its beginnings in a different format in the 1920s through its present-day incarnation. While the authors interweave some US history through it all, their attention to detail is somewhat off--they have FDR dying in the wrong month of 1945, for example, and Martin Luther King, Jr. assassinated in the wrong city.

The recipes, however, are quite good. Not everything will appeal to everyone, but there is enough variety for all of us. Even simple items such as the blueberry muffins have just the right details that make them so much better than what you are probably eating on weekend mornings now! While there is a strong emphasis on baked goods, the entrees such as meat loaf and macaroni & cheese are not to be overlooked. They involve a step or two more than some of us are used to, but they evoke nostalgia & good eating no matter where you call home.

It's good food & good reading, all in one book!

Summary: Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous
Review: What can I say? Juniors cookbook is fabulous. It is like taking a step back in time to the old days when good food tasted like it should, and you didn't worry whether or not it was good for you or not.

Buy this cookbook. You won't be sorry.
