Rating: Summary: Memories of Yesteryear Review: This cookbook will take you back to your roots or will create new roots for you. It reminded me of the warm summer days and cool summer evenings of my youth. Too many people are rushing about and eating catch-can instead of taking the time to enjoy what we have, what God has given us, and what we, too, can create.
Rating: Summary: Simple Goodness Review: This is a plain and simple little book. There are no color photos and no outlandish dishes that you will never try. This book is about good, honest and hearty food. It's an excellent first cookbook and makes a fine addition to a serious cook's collection as well.

Rating: Summary: A heartfelt introduction to old fashioned Southern cooking Review: This is not a highly polished effort, but that is its charm. This book is a lovely, loving tribute to the author's mother and to the way cooking and eating bind families together. The recipes are for simple, straightforward dishes, the kind of delicious food you are more likely to get in someone's home than in a restaurant. There isn't a great deal of instruction beyond the basics, but anyone who has done a little cooking should be able to use the recipes without any problem.
