Review: I have used this book so often the paperback edition is worn out. I am reordering it in hardcover. It is excellent for family meals as well as entertaining.

Summary: My standard Winter Entertaining Reference
Review: I own a lot of cookbooks, but this is the one I pull out most frequently during cold weather months. It is especially great for cozy, casual, Sunday type entertaining. The chapter "Stormy Weather and Magic Mountains" is my favorite. Be sure to try the Hungarian Chicken, Indian Ragout, Country Captain, Ropa Vieja, and Cabbage Rolls. A wonderful, eclectic assortment of do ahead, one dish meals.

Summary: A Staple for any kitchen!
Review: I received this as a gift and it is amazing. Every recipe I have tried has been great. Sample menus are fabulous. This will keep anyone cooking year round. Recipes are diverse and intriguing. I have given this as a gift over and over.

Review: I recently took a Holiday Entertaining class with Sarah and was so impressed with the recipes she demonstated that I bought this book. I think it could very well become my "Holiday Bible" as it gives great sample recipes and ideas for a full (appetizer to dessert) holiday meal as well as helpful hints for beginners such as how to cook a turkey without fear. The recipes run from extravagant and elegant to simple "comfort foods" to serve your family for a Sunday dinner. I am truly amazed at the depth of flavor and absolutely divine taste that comes from using relatively few ingredients. Try the The White Clam and Bacon pizza - it's to die for!

Summary: A STAR FOR ANYONES COOKBOOK COLLECTION!
Review: Sarah Leah Chases cookbooks never fail to provide interesting, flavorful, and beautiful dishes. This cookbook along with Chase's Nantucket Open House Cookbook are just dreamy. Her descriptions of the recipes are wonderful and the recipes themselves are lavish and tastey!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Another winner from Sarah Leah Chase!
Review: This book, along with the Nantucket book, are the two most-used staples of my large cookbook collection. Some of these recipies call for expensive, lavish ingredients, but all are well worth the expense! The artichoke/prociutto hors d'oeuvres disappear faster than you can produce them. Another "must-have" from Ms. Chase!
