Summary: Good eatin', good food, and white trash cookin'
Review: This is great. The stories are hilarious and the excellent photography is a documentation of country with a capital "C." The recipes are pretty good also. (...)

Summary: It's Some Good.
Review: This is not a mean-spirited parody. This is the stuff you never admit to eating, but you know you want. Cholesterol be damned! You'll never find a good recipe for Chicken Feet anywhere else. You can find authentic recipes for Scripture Cake and Kiss-Me-Not Sandwiches here. I'm a Yankee, but I remember eating No-Stick Peanut Butter Sandwiches as a child. This is a loving look back at our cooking roots, before we got too good to eat Slumgullion.

Summary: Rick Black's Trailer Trash Cookin' is by far a better book!
Review: Us folks in the court know our vittles and Rick Black and his Trailer Trash Cookbook knows how to "GET ER DONE" Sorry but Earnies book is Jeff Foxworthy's jokes with recipes.

Summary: This book is as much fun to read as it is to use.
Review: When I saw the picture on the front of this book, I had to pick it up and thumb through it. When I did, I was hooked. I've enjoyed reading the book, looking at the pictures, and using the recipes for years now. It is a true gem!

Summary: A Joy to Read, an American Classic
Review: While the world described in White Trash Cooking is not one most of us experience, it is a telling commentary on the simple roots many of us come from. I found the writing of the contributors heartwarming and enjoyable to read. I especially loved the Grand Canyon Cake and am looking forward to making it for my nieces and nephews as an educational exercise as the recipe suggests! In the back of my own book I have added family recipes that I feel qualify to be included, such as Mel's Cheesy Succotash and Corny Beany Spaghetti. I have given this book as a gift to many friends and the consensus is "It's a hoot and a holler!"

Summary: It was funny, then my black mother wanted to cook the stuff.
Review: Yes, I got this as a lark many years ago. As time passed more and more black older people were wanting copies of pages for them selves. Seems they were eating the same stuff down the road, and across the tracks? My mother first thought it was gross, then read the stuff and stopped on this page, and that, and went to the kitchen and cooked up what she had missed for years. Her mothers food. I never thought of patoto chip sandwiches though? But mirical whip and jello live in my mind. And Jesus, Macaroni & Cheese. My son loves hot dog water soup. Go figure.
