Rating: Summary: very usefull Review: Vegetarian planet has inspired me to attempt fantastic sounding dishes, such as daikon dumplings, that I never thought I'd have the skills to make. That came out beutifly, and
the bannana cream pie with a choclate layer wasgreat too.
One of the best cookbooks I've ever used.
Rating: Summary: wonderful!!! ... even for (part time) omnivores. Review: when i was getting ready to buy this book, i read the reviews and i couldn't understand why there were *VEGANS* posting complaints about the book. now that i own it - i STILL can't understand that! the book is clearly VEGETARIAN and the author even says herself that she's not a full time herbivore. HELLOOOO???
if you are an omnivore like me and you are looking for ways to cut down on your meat intake without sacrificing hearty, delicious meals, or even if you're a veteran vegetarian - this book is for you!! her recipes are easy to follow and use ingredients that are not too hard to find. it feels like cooking with a friend. i could almost go vegetarian with this book... :)
Didi Emmons, GREAT job!!! thanks for sharing with us.
Rating: Summary: Fabulous cookbook Review: Worth five stars alone for her "Roasted Vegetable Broth" and simple pizza dough recipes. I found the true gold in this book not in the recipes, but in her little blurbs between chapters- I have some of them marked with sticky notes so I can find them quickly.
She is a little free with the dairy if you happen to be vegan, but if you're not, I have impressed my meat-and-potato friends with some of her recipes. Great, great cookbook.
