Summary: The Best Cookbook Ever
Review: I can't tell you how much I love this cookbook. This is the first cookbook I ever owned, and it remains my favorite without challenge. The recipes are tasty, easy, healthy, and presentable. I'm able to entertain carnivorous friends without fear that they will reject these meals - they're always pleasently surprised at just how tasty and filling vegetarian food can be.

Summary: This book is incredible
Review: I got this book after seeing it in a juicebar in California and thinking it looked cool. The recommendations here aren't wrong. I really recommend the Swiss Rosti! If you try the Bok Choi dishes, she doesn't really specify which type to use, but I recommend the baby bok choi or you're gonna need a really big pot!

Review: I hate this book. There is nothing worse to me than "vegetarian" when it's not.... makes it so hard to explain to people what vegetarian actually is when cookbook authors include fish as vegetables. This cookbook is NOT vegetarian. Some recipes include fish. A recipe labeled vegan is not vegan, either, as it contains honey.

In addition, many recipes are just unhealthy. There is a HEAVY reliance on dairy - several recipes call for more than a stick of butter or several cups of milk.

I think this book is a disservice to the vegetarian community at best, and misleading to those starting to become vegetarians.

Summary: I live by this cookbook!
Review: I have dog-eared, food-stained, highlighted most of this book! My favorite to make is the "Dirty Rice" along with the Rockin' Guacomole...its fast & easy and everyone goes crazy over it. I can't say enough great things. I hope Didi will be putting out another book soon..

Summary: Appetizers will impress your guests.
Review: I just had a party featuring appetizers from Didi's book. I made Sushi with a wasabi/ginger sauce, pepper mesa sticks, salsa verde and chedder pecan balls. The guests complimented the food while gobbling up every last bit. The final section that suggests ideas for a full meal including a complimentary wine makes the book invaluable.

Summary: Great cookbook!
Review: I love this cookbook! Lots of variety, interesting combinations but nothing that you have to try to believe it'll taste good. Everything is right on target - sounds good when you read the recipe and is delicious when you taste it. Highly recommended

Summary: Amazing cookbook
Review: I LOVE this cookbook. I've probably made a fifth of its recipes; the only reason I haven't made more is that I keep remaking ones I've already made because they are sooo good. I never write reviews for anything, but this is the third time I've purchased this as a present and I feel it definately deserves the praise.

Summary: My favorite cookbook ever!
Review: I love this cookbook. The recipes are inventive and wonderful. Many old standbys, such as pesto, banana bread or brownies are completely -- and wonderfully -- reinvented with the addition/substitution of a few different ingredients (which you probably already have in your kitchen). I also really enjoy her chatty and approachable narrative style. She tells us the background of the recipes (i.e., "I had too many jalapenos on hand one day, so I made up this recipe") and gives tips throughout on choosing produce, preparation of types of grains, information on spices, etc. Everything is from scratch, but very healthy and not overly complicated. This book is a great investment, even for a meat eater, because it has literally hundreds of great recipes almost anyone would like. My friends all think I am this amazing cook, but Vegetarian Planet is the secret of my success!

Summary: My favorite cookbook!
Review: I'll never buy another veggie burger again. The burgers in this book are cheap and easy to make and far surpass anything in the health food store. Buy this book and you can be an international vegetarian gourmet. I bought 3 extra copies for friends and they rave about the book as well.

Summary: Perfect for new and veteran vegetarians
Review: I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and this is by far the most used cookbook in my kitchen! I have enjoyed every recipe I've tried, and many of my family's favorite dishes (even the non-vegetarian's) are from Vegetarian Planet. Great variety including vegetarian versions of old stand-bys and easy to make ethnic dishes that don't require too many hard-to-find ingredients. There's even a section that suggests menus and complementary wines. And unlike many vegetarian cookbooks that take the decadence out of dessert, Didi Emmons knows how to make irresistable yet still somewhat healthy treats. These recipes are sure to please anyone who enjoys good food!
