Rating: Summary: Been looking for a new way to make a classic? Here it is. Review: As a cheesecake lover I am always on the lookout for a new recipe. This book has more varieties than you have ever imagined. My only difficulty came when some hard to find liquers where used. Several recipes called for liquers that were difficult for me to find such as bannana schnapps, orange schnapps, vanilla liqueor. I had to order them from a local liquor store that had problems locating them as well. When I found them the results were worth the wait but some lightweights may find the alcohol flavored cakes a bit strong.
Rating: Summary: Excellent cheesecake book! Review: Helpful hints section on how to make a good cheesecake was great. Very detailed and informative. Lots of unique cheesecake receipes. Good photography on the cakes. I will use this book quite frequently. thanks!
Rating: Summary: Best cheesecake book I've seen Review: I bought this book years ago after checking it out from the library-I've made numerous recipes out of it, and *all* of them, from caramel apple to chocolate fantasy to banana cream, have come out fabulously. Everyone raves wherever I take them. Not for the fat-conscious, these cakes are truly a decadent treat!
Rating: Summary: Saved the day! Review: I can't tell you how grateful I am to have found this book. I decided that I wanted to make cheesecakes for my wedding instead of paying some bakery $2,000+ to do it. I picked three recipes and made 4 cakes of each (120 people), for a total cost of about $300. The book made recipe conversions and pan sizing a snap. And the best part - everyone raved, and thought that they had been professionally made!! There was a small-scale war on during the reception as to which cheesecake was the best one. By far, this book is one of the reasons our wedding came off as one of the best that people had attended. Thanks Mary Crownover!!
Rating: Summary: Cheesecake Heaven! Review: I got this book as a birthday gift in November and have really gotten a lot of use out of it over the holiday season. Every recipe has been extremely good and met with rave reviews! The Margarita Cheesecake has been a top request! The only thing - every recipe calls for liquors, vanilla liquor, orange liquor, etc.....not being a drinker, I don't have bottles and bottles of pricey liquors on hand so I use extracts....which are pretty much all alcohol anyway. However, for the "Beverage Based" cheesecakes, I did go out and buy the rum and tequila.

Rating: Summary: Well worth your money if you love cheesecake! Review: I have found this cookbook to be very tantilizing and helpful. The author often gives helpful hints and the recipes are very creative. The only downside is that there are not a lot of pictures -- I like to have a picture with each recipe so I can get ideas for what it should look like and how it can be creatively served. The pictures that are included are wonderful though.
Rating: Summary: Appropriately Named Review: I have make several of the recipes in this book and they ALL have turned out fabulous. Some of my friends even offered me money for the cakes. As far as the reveiwers that mentioned the liquors, I couldn't disagree more. Yes there are some that use liquor, but, not all of them use it. The liquor based ones that I have made were not strong to me, but they might be to someone that is sensitive. In my opinion, the alcohol cooks off in the cooking prosses, so what is left the the flavor of the liqour it's self.
I would suggest that you put a little more sugar in the filling or in the crust, if you like it sweet. Also, I like to put some brown sugar in the filling, even if the recipe does not call for it. It adds a wonderful rich color to the cakes.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Review: I have several cheesecake books. This was my first and still my favorite. Mary Crownover has compiled some of the most unique recipes for cheesecake. If you only buy 1 cheesecake book. This is the one!!!!
Rating: Summary: Very Appropriately Named for this book Review: I have tried several recipes in this book. I have tried them as is and I have varied the recipes a bit. It is impossible to make one that doesn't taste good. I have made them for gatherings and I have even had people offer to pay me to make cakes. The recipes are simple to follow, and there are lots of baking tips in the front of the book. The only thing that I would suggest is that if you like your desserts sweet, put a little more sugar in the filling or add some sugar to the crust. Also, if you want to add some more color to the cake, add some brown sugar to the filling. For example, most of the recipes call for 3/4 cup of sugar. If you want put 2/4 c. of sugar and 1/4 c. of brown. I love the color of the cakes when I bake them this way.
This book is truly a gift to share with others. Just like my new beverage of choice that replaced my morning brew. Its called s oyfee and taste so wonderful with no caffeine or acids. Organic and made from soya! Bye bye acid stomach and hello healthy tummy! Google it under "acid free coffee"
