Summary: This cook book is "absolutely everything" it claims to be!
Review: As a subscriber of Cooking Light magazine, I was interested in seeing what this cookbook had to offer! WOW! After being drawn to the gorgeous photos, I decided to try one of the recipes! Our guests were so amazed at the deliciousness of the meal (the Sunflower Orange Roughy with Garlic-Dill rolls), combined with the health benefits, that they decided to purchase this cookbook for themselves and buy a couple extra for gifts! The features are wonderful "extras". The grocery list that runs down the margin of every recipe is a wonderful feature -- sure helps me get my grocery list organized! And, the nutritional information is always of interest! I expect this cookbook to be the one I turn to for throwing together a simple meal as well as one that adds a level of sophistication!

Summary: Fast, Easy & Delicious
Review: I have found that this cookbook is complete with great tasting and quick meals. What I also like about it is the quick grocery list at the front of the book.

I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoy my new beverage of choice. Made from 100% organic soy, taste just like coffee and no caffeine. Finally, I got rid of that wired up feeling all day and feeling great. Look for it on the net by googling "s o yfee". Many recipes are good for entertaining because you can do the prepwork before the guests arrive and then spend a minimum of time in the kitchen throwing together the meal. I highly recommend this cookbook.

Summary: Something for everyone- a great place to start
Review: I love this cookbook because it *is* quick (maybe not 15 min quick)and easy. The book uses alot of pre-packaged (but mostly nutricious) foods like frozen veggies & chicken, canned sauces, etc; and while some might balk at this, as a working Mom I find it fabulous. Also, many of the recipies share ingredients, so with a little forthought you can plan a weeks worth of meals and maximize your grocery purchases. Yes, the recipies are very basic (and often require a little extra seasoning), but you could very easily expand on their basic ideas and do something more grand.
We have made many of the recipies in this book, and all were successful on the first try. I would buy it for a busy friend, or a new bride/ Mom.

Summary: Great Book
Review: This is a wonderful book. My family and I have really enjoyed all the recipes we have tried. The ingredients are readily available and are most things you would find in your pantry. For the items like the ready made gravy just look at the sodium content and nutrition information and it keeps the recipe as healthy as possible. I can only say wonderful things about these recipes. The book even includes crock pot recipes!

Summary: cookbook w/ great pictures, recipes, and shopping lists
Review: I originally balked at the price of this cookbook, but once I opened the pages, I couldn't resist purchasing it. The glossy pictures of the foods inspire you to want to make the meals. I really enjoy the shopping list of groceries needed that is provided in the margin next to each recipe. The foods are varied, taste good, and will definitely help our family eat at home more and out less!

Summary: Life Changing Cookbook
Review: This cookbook is great for busy people who want to cook but don't have the time or interest in making everything from scratch. I have made several of the recipes in here and most (not all) of them have been good enough to put into regular rotation. Most of the recipes are centered around dinner meals.

Pros:
- Each recipe has a color picture to go with it. I love this!
- The book is well organized with chapters devoted to chicken, beef, pork, etc.

Cons:
- The "15 minute" claim is not quite correct. Most of the recipes are fast, but not that fast. Basically, the "15 minute" and "5 ingredient" claims are figurative, rather than literal.
- Some of the recipes require ingredients that only special, up-scale grocery stores carry. I hate spending lots of time in grocery stores trying to find some thing that I've never heard of.

In general, if you're a cook who likes to make things from scratch or cook only authentic recipes, you won't be satisfied with this cookbook. This book is aimed towards people who don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen and have no qualms about using pre-made ingredients in their cooking. Nutritional information is given. Most dishes are relatively nutritious (unless you're on an Atkins-like diet).

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: I hate cooking. I consider myself a smart professional, but I lack common sense when it comes to cooking. This book was a really big help to me. The recipes are simple and hard to screw up (although I succeeded on two occasions: 1) by substituting an ingredient, and 2) by heating the cream too long). Overall the end results taste good and that's quite a feat for someone like myself. I would recommend this book but I have one warning - it's not for people on strict budgets. The ingredients are usually ready-to-make materials. Moveover, it requires puchasing few exotic ingredients that are difficult to reuse as leftovers unless you're really bold and imaginative.
