Rating: Summary: You Wish You Wrote This... Review: A simple concept that has been pondered and agonized for years. For centuries, food and sex has been linked... some of it are oysters, some of it is cobra's blood. Jaqui dispenses advice that does not deal with cobra's blood, but more readily found at your local grocery store (including cleaning products... i.e. clean up the joint before he/she comes over)and some pretty solid dating advice.Let's face it, Bobby Flay's second bannana was the only reason why we guys watched Bobby; she's total eye candy, she's funny and she's into food. And she's written a nuts to bolts book on how to get the girl (or guy), centered around food. For someone like me, I take the advice. I can cook circles around most... no idle boast. I welcome all challengers. But the dating thing, I can always use better information. Jacqui is irrevernt at times and very poinient at other times. Her language is breezy and fun, but drives some pretty solid points home... keep it simple, stupid! If you want to impress, keep it tasty; but not so elaborate that you're spending all bloody night in the kitchen and not in the bedroom... except for a very special night. Then again, that's why the term "mis en plas" exists. Everything in it's place... plan ahead, prep ahead and you won't be stuck in the kitchen all night. And be yourself; keep your wits about you. I don't know if this book will neccesarily help you in getting laid or finding that special someone that you're going to bring home to Mom and Dad, but this book ain't going to hurt your chances either. It's a fun read, the recipes are solid... and there are some way cute pics of Jacqui to boot. And you don't have to grill the potatoes in the Grilled Red Bliss Potatoes with Wasabi Creme Fraiche either... boil till just done, chill 'em and slice 'em. Recipes like that are highly adaptable... improvisation in the kitchen is good for improvisation in the bedroom. best of luck to all. And congratulations to Jacqui. It's a rock solid book.
Rating: Summary: Booty-ful food Review: I have never bought a book like this before, but I've seen Jacqui on "Hot Off the Grill" and thought I would check it out. Wow, does she know how to get the juices flowing! Her recipes are great. I have tried a few and though some are complicated and require some hard to find ingredients where I live, the taste was delicious! Way to go Jacqui! When is the next book coming HOT off the presses?
