Rating: Summary: A Must Have in your Kitchen Review: This is one of those cookbooks you always reach for in your kitchen. I have never had a meal go wrong yet. My husband loves the meals that I make from this book. I have cooked for just the two of us up to a medium size dinner party. Excellent everytime!!!!
Rating: Summary: The Silver Palate Cookbook Review: This is the best cookbook ever! It came highly recommended by friends, and three weeks after purchase, I have made five delicious recipes to rave reviews from my family. The recipes are easy to follow, and prepare, yet different enough to put a little "pizzazz" in our usual hum drum dinners. The text is informative and enjoyable to read. I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who enjoys the satifsfaction of preparing and eating good food. I can't wait to get my hads on the other Silver Palate books!
Rating: Summary: A beloved "basic gourmet" book Review: This, always paired with "The Silver Palate: Good Times Cookbook", is one of my favorites. I originally bought this book when in search of a good cookbook to use for a family gourmet night. We did an entire supper out of the two books, including a lovely salmon mousse spread, zucchini-watercress soup, chicken with raspberries, and poached pears with chocolate glaze. Ever since, I use the books often. When a bottle of olive oil exploded in my cupboard and leaked onto the counter, soaking my Silver Palate that had been recently used (I think it weighed about 10 pounds after that incident) I rushed immediately out and bought a new copy. I love the commentary down the sides of the pages, and the sections are well thought out and nicely done.
