Summary: I've never been into cooking, but....
Review: ...since I got this book I've been grilling up a storm. I've tried more than half the recipies in this book and every one of them has been exceptional. I've never really cooked before, never had the patience to follow recipies but these are very easy to follow and require easy-to-find ingredients. My wife is amazed. She can't believe I'm the same guy she's been kicking out of the kitchen for years.

Summary: Best Book - Even for Charcoal Grill
Review: Best book out there by far. Bought it for my dad for Christmas 1999. Since then we've all bought a copy for each other.

Other reviewers were displeased because of the heavy gas grill reference in the introduction. Don't let that fool you. Us charcoaling purists can regulate temperature as well - the final output is incredible. (Use this book in conjunction with your Weber Intro. book included with your purchase - great reference for # of coals to use for indirect & direct heat as well as meat temperatures and average time on grill).

Instructions are easy to follow and produce high quality meals. The wine or beer recommendations for each meal are right on target. The garlic mint turkey, mustard/honey glaze salmon, and North Carolina-style pork barbecue are beyond this world and a blast to cook.

I wouldn't pass on this one - it's worth it.

Summary: Excellent
Review: Everything in this book is excellent - the pictures, the instructions, the variety, and, of course, the food. I bought several extras as gifts!

Summary: I love this cookbook!
Review: First of all, the book is beautifully photographed and could almost work as a coffee table. I took Weber's Art of the Grill on a weekend getaway trip and within 2 hours, put together a wonderful dinner, complete with the most amazing dessert-- the Berry Biscotti Crisp. Try it! I'm no gourmet chef, but my friends were more than impressed! I love this cookbook! And it's all on the grill!

Summary: Who needs a oven?
Review: I always new the Weber grill was capable of more than just burgers and steaks. I had no idea the range of wonderful tasty treats you could cook on the outdoor grill. From the appetizer course to desserts, this book has it all.

The photos in the book really get your mouth watering just thumbing through the pages. I have owned the book for a couple of months and have found so many fantastic ideas for the grill that I haven't turned on my oven since.

I started with the Bourbon Baked Beans, (now a family and neighborhood favorite!), Shrimp w/ procutto, smoked corn chowder, tandoori chicken, grilled chicken pizza and many others. All have been fantastic. My husband begs me to try a new recipe from the book every nite.

My new favorite cookbook. Hope it's yours too!

Summary: Buy "The Barbecue Bible" first!
Review: I have made @ half the recipes in this book. They are OK. I find "The Barbecue Bible" to be a much better book. It doesn't have the glossy photos, but the quality of the recipes and the variety is far superior to this book. James McNair also wrote an excellent grilling cookbook that is superior to this one.

Summary: WARNING! This book is for GAS grills!
Review: I must have missed something somewhere, but nowhere in the description of this book did I see any reference to it being specially written for gas - not charcoal - Weber grills. To quote the introduction: "All the recipes in this book were developed for and tested on Weber Summit Gas Barbecues."

Sure, it mentions "real" grills in passing in the introduction, but makes no concession to them when describing how to cook the (delicious-looking) recipes. Instructions to heat the grill to "high" "medium" or "low" aren't much use when you're fiddling with the vents and piling on the briquettes.

I'm sure most of these recipes will work fine on a charcoal Weber, but it's a little disoncerting to discover a book I thought would be tailor made for my backyard faithful was intended for a far different, and more high-tech, machine entirely.

In summary, it's a great book if you've got a gas grill, a "nice" one otherwise.

Summary: Perfect Weber Companion
Review: I now wonder what we ever did without our Weber. This grill cooks to perfection. Everything we have tried comes out so juicy, beautifullly marked and without all the flairups. This cookbook presents so many gourmet dishes for the grill. Especially have we enjoyed the Pork Tenderloin with Citris and the Banana Napoleon Desert.
