Rating: Summary: Great book that is a joy to read on the art of Grilling... Review: This is one of the best cook books written. Finally there is a cookbook that is actually enjoyable to read. The book is peppered with great cooking stories and great pictures. I like the picture of the dog running off with your freshly grilled steak you just dropped. The grilling tips for each type of food, and the spices information and use tips are very helpful to new and well seasoned cooks. The grilling tips make grilling a joy and it makes the food turn out great. Ever wonder why that freshly grilled steak at all those friendly barbecues at your friends house or at the in-laws barbecue's tasted awful? This book tells you why and how to avoid all the mistakes. Your grilled food will now taste much better with that professionally made look. Some of the Salmon cooking tips are found no where else and, man, do they work. I now make the best grilled and salmon on the block, perfect every time! I live in Phoenix Arizona where the grilling season is 365 days a year, so good grilling skills are very important. Its now December and its 75 degrees outside with clear blue skies! Got to go, I have some fresh trout ready to grill!
Rating: Summary: The Worlds Best Grilling Book Review: If you like to grill - and by that I mean charcoal, not that sissy gas stuff - this is the book for you. The recipes are fantastic, page after page. And not just meat, fish, and chicken. But vegetables! Try the asparagus with tarragon butter. So easy and tasty, you'll never simply steam asparagus again. And deserts and appetizers and, and, and...In addition to the great recipes, there are all sorts of hints about grilling, techniques, temperatures, timing and so on. Very useful. I discovered from this book that you can get a hinged cooking grate so that when cooking something requiring additional coals, like a Thanksgiving turkey, you can evenly add coals instead of dropping them through the small standard grill face holes. It's wonderful! Sure, the book could be considered a promotion for Weber and its products. But who cares! After all, they are The King of Grilling, aren't they? The recipes and other information are terrific.
Rating: Summary: This is a MUST for anyone who likes to grill or barbecue Review: Forget everything you thought you knew about BBQing. This book will teach you how to do it right. If you like to BBQ or Grill, for yourself or to entertain people, this should be the cornerstone of your kitchen. Not only does it teach you techniques but there are hundreds of useful recipes, covering all types...meat, fish, poultry, vegetables and even desserts! This book is to grilling what Betty Crocker's original cook book was to the modern kitchen. A must for any grill chef!
Rating: Summary: Weber's Big Book Review: We've never had a recipe from this book we didn't really like. Not only does the book have great recipes but it explains exactly what you need to know to make the dish turn out exactly as it should. We like this book so well we've given several as gifts to family members and friends.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS THE BEST AND ONLY GRILL BOOK YOU WILL EVER NEED Review: I have looked at many grilling cookbooks and this is bye far the best cookbook. It has everything in it that you need to make a great BBQ. The Mesquite flavor Pork Chops are incredible and so is the Porterhouse rub. This book is very detailed and has great pictures. It has all the techniques to make someone a great outdoor cook.
Rating: Summary: Another Great Book by Weber Review: I got a Weber Summit grill two years ago, then I went out looking for cookbooks, since I never had owned a grill before and had no idea what to do or where to start. Some cookbooks are strictly for charcoal grills; other cookbooks just didn't have the right kind of directions. It seems like some authors out there don't want to recognize the existence of gas grills. I really like the convenience of a gas grill. I discovered the Art of the Grill cookbook and it had the kind of directions I needed and understood. The recipes in that book are great. The salmon is a snap because you cook it on a sheet of foil, so it's easy, delicious and no cleanup. Even the strawberry pie was wonderful. Then along came this latest book. It's even better with lots more recipes and great instructions. I hate grill books that don't have clear instructions on the heat you need, among other things. I have made the stuffed veal chops several times and the sea bass and the simple pork chops that you just marinate for 30 minutes. Vegetables are also easy to grill, and I think they always taste better grilled. The recipes always come out as promised. I have no been disappointed, and I am anxious to try many more recipes that I know will turn out. This is the ultimate grill cookbook.
Rating: Summary: The Ultimate BBQ Reference Review: I was looking for a comprehensive cookbook that covered all the BBQ basics--grilling time, direct vs. indirect heat, how to prepare food for best grilling results, etc. I have found it (and much more!) in this book. Not being afraid to put just about anything on the grill, this book covers it all from appetizers to desserts, all with delicious results. Just try the Beer-Can Chicken (I laughed until I cried just seeing it sitting there on the grill, then cried with joy over how moist and flavorful it was), and you will want to try each and every recipe in this book.
Rating: Summary: THE grilling cookbook Review: Weber's BIG BOOK of Grilling is out of this world!! I purchased this book along with Weber's Art of The Grill and while they are both great I would pick this one over "Art" for an all around grilling cookbook. This was a VERY well thought out book, it is easy to find what you are looking for and offers great advice for beginners to grilling. It is broken down into food "groups" and then delves into each group with a nice assortment of recipes. The best thing about grilling with an actual Weber grill and using this cookbook is that if you follow the recipe you can't go wrong. It truly can take you from the "You burned the burgers Again!!" to "Wow these are great burgers". I really could go on and on about this book but I won't, just trust me and purchase it, you will not regret it.
Rating: Summary: Poem for a Grilling Book Review: Roses are red just like my meat. I grilled some today, with a sauce ever-so-sweet. The Weber Big Book has all that is tasty, enticing and spicy so go buy and be hasty! Whether you like it saucy, or covered with rub, the recipes and methods will improve all your grub. Grilling is thrilling, as no doubt you do know, but Jamie P's methods, are the best in the show. The Big Book has got it, fish, bird, and game, and let me assure you, your beef won't be the same. Now get out and buy this, I fully do say, just a couple of bucks is all that you'll pay. Anthony Trendl
Rating: Summary: Great Book from Weber Review: This book is great for novice to expert grillers. Grilling being the key to this book unlike other "BBQ" books this is centered toward people who grill-that being those of us who don't always want to deal with thick sauces or have the time to slow roast things for hours. There are some recipies for BBQ but most are straight forward, simple but delicious meals that can be completed in under an hour. I have many grilling/bbq books and this is by far the one I go to the most! Some of the recipies in the book are online but there are many that are not. If you are looking for a grilling book this is the one, if your more into BBQ & Smoking food you might want to try the Bar-B-Q Bible or other such books.
