Summary: Come through the door starved?
Review: I get home from work late most of the time, and want to eat fast!!! This book is just what I needed. I take it to work with me, and at the end of the day, I figure out what I feel like eating, and make a quick stop on the way home for the fresh ingredients. I make enough for lunch the next day, and sometimes bring a "snack" for my boss who is a low-carber, too. (Dana, you can probably take credit for my recent raise!!!)

The best things about this book are 1) that it has a ton of great innovative recipes, and 2) reading them seems to suggest other creative ideas to whip up as well.

These are not just recipes for "low-carbers," but a wonderful collection for anyone who is interested in fresh, delicious, and easily-prepared meals.

Summary: Don't use time as an excuse to fall off of your LC diet!
Review: This book is a great resource to help keep you on your low carb diet. Dana Carpender's books are always well done, and this is no exception. Her foods are good, and most of them are real foods, not the horrid Frankenfoods sold as low carb by many other authors. I don't spend much time in the desserts section, as I don't do many sweets.

The Mexican Cabbage Soup (pg 202) is a great example of real, good, quick food in this cookbook. I've done 101 variations on that theme after eating this one. The entire family has eaten quite well.

The chapter on low sugar condiments is well worth the price of the book. Make your own ketchup and a few other condiments, rather than buying special, expensive diet ones, and you've just paid for the book!

Summary: AMAZING
Review: This book is amazing. I've used it almost every night for the past 3 weeks (and I've lost 13 pounds). I love it! My husband said that last night's dinner was Restaurant Quality! And, everything truly takes less than 15 minutes!!!!

Summary: Another good Dana Carpender book
Review: This is my second book by Dana Carpender and it's really good. Simple recipes with a lot of variety and good tastes too. Can't count the number of people who've said that they abandon low carb eating because it's boring - this is a good cookbook for anyone with that kind of issue.

Summary: Perfect Book for Fast Preparation of Low Carb
Review: This is a neat book that has lots of great recipes for meals and things like dipping sauce or salad dressing. The meals are designed to be prepared in 15 minutes, which is great for staying on a low carb plan without too much cooking work. A very useful book! Its helped me loads as I'm now into trying to eat and stay healthy. I've even cut off caffeine drinks completely. I've switched over to a caffeine-free coffee substitute made from soyabeans I found on the net at www.

Summary: First Low Carb Book I've Ever Bought.. And Probably the Last
Review: I hate to go along with the crowd, but this really is a fine book. The recipes are tasty, quick to prepare and low carb. Can't really ask for more from a cookbook.

I'm on South Beach, which has lower saturated fat limits than Atkins, so I make only occasional use some of the recipes that call for sausage, bacon and higher fat cheeses. But there's plenty of low saturated fat recipes included as well.

Some of my favorite recipes are actually for making your own low carb condiments and sauces. The stir-fry sauce has greatly increased my daily vegetable consumption. Also included are recipes for things like Asian dipping sauce, "honey" mustard (no actual honey, of course), remoulade sauce for sea food, and even recipes for low carb ketchup and BBQ sauce.

Highly recommended.

Summary: An INCREDIBLE recipe book!
Review: I have been low carbing since 1998. This is THE BEST recipe book I have EVER found! And the 15 minutes is probably pretty accurate. For us moms with 3 little ones at home, it's more like 30 minutes including all the distractions...but that's still by far better than anything else home cooked!

It's a relief when I make a recipe from this book 'cause I know it won't take too long. AND I can make practially ANY recipe in the book. When I meal-plan at the beginning of the week, I just sit down with the book and pick the next one I haven't tried yet (I've probably gone thorugh about half of them by now.) We haven't needed to repeat a recipe yet 'cause I'd say 95% of them are excellent!

I can't say enough about this book. And I have now picked up her other books and they are great as well. Don't hesitate to get this book!
