Rating: Summary: Another favorite! Review: Dana's first cookbook, 500 Low Carb Recipes, is my bible but I am a more than full time working mother who does much of the cooking and food planning for the family so the 15 minute Low Carb Recipes was a tantalizing title and it so far has totally lived up to it's name. I must admit that for me the 15 minutes is after gathering ingredients but the other night I made several dishes and did it in under 30 minutes and had a gourmet meal to show for it. I have begun taking low carb dishes to potlucks and I took 2 from this cookbook and 1 of my own creation and both of Dana's were licked clean. We always rate each recipe with up to 5 stars and so far most of them have rated 5 stars and the ones that didn't were more of a personal dislike than a recipe flaw. My favorite is the Garlic and Herb Creamed Spinach, I have made that 3 times and never have leftovers. Keep on cooking Dana.
Rating: Summary: Quick, easy, low carb, and TASTY! Review: I bought 15-Minute Low-Carb Recipes because I adore 500 Low-Carb Recipes, and couldn't wait to try the new book. It's fantastic. It truly is about quick food. Each recipe takes 15 minutes or less in pre- and post-cooking preparation time. In fact, if the recipe is a cook-it-right-now one (as opposed to a slow-cooker recipe), the whole thing is 15 minutes or less. Plus, every recipe I've tried has been wonderful. What more could you want? Oh, yes--the recipes are also low carb! I'm happy. I'm very, very happy.
Rating: Summary: Awsome Low-Carb Cookbook Review: I believe I own every low-carb cookbook published, and this is a great one for the novice to an experienced cook. For someone just begining to low-carb this is the one!
Rating: Summary: a/k/a Holiday Survival Guide book for low carbers!! Review: I was falling into a low-carb rut - no time for cooking, bored with my usual standby's, and starting to slip. This book caught my eye, and I was going to add it to my wish list - until I realized that I needed it NOW to get through the holiday season. Half a dozen successful meals later, it was the right call. Dana's recipes are easy, and don't require advanced shopping for special ingredients. This book will not help you on your path to be a gourmet chef - but it will do exactly what it sets out to do: help you get a yummy meal on the table fast. Try the Peking Burgers!
Rating: Summary: 15-Minute Tortilla Tricks! Don't Call the Vice Squad! Review: This cookbook is the best if you miss those easy pick up on the way home from work high carb favorites like Pizza, Chinese and Mexican. 15-Minute Tricks with Tortillas how clever! My husband is now a low carb Tortilla Pizza freak. My favorite is the Mondo Giganto Quesadilla-from-Hell. The first recipe we cooked was the Chicken Chop Suey, we were blown away! It was better than any take out chinese we ever had. The Eggs Fu Yong can only be described as YUM! Mexican for breakfast why didn't I think of that,Huevos Con El Sabor de Chiles Rellenos(scrambled eggs with mildly hot Chillies and Monterey Jack cheese)Yum. We make these for diner as well. They are really good with a dollop of sour cream on top. I have not even opened my other Low Carb cook books since I bought 500 Low-Carb Recipes and 15-Minute Low-Carb Recipes. Why bother when I know what ever I make from thse two cookbooks is going to be wonderful. I am never disappointed in the recipes and the weight loss. My husband and I have lost a combined 35 pounds in two months. If you don't have these cookbooks order them today! Dana will not let you down!
Rating: Summary: They'll Think You Slaved for Hours! Review: I didn't think Dana could make low-carb cooking any easier, but she has. This is a wonderful cookbook. For busy cooks, there's even a slow cooker section. I made baby back ribs her way, and they were unbelieveable. This woman's a genius!
Rating: Summary: Best book for busy working moms Review: I love the fact that I can put a few items together in a short time and call it a meal. I am bombarded as soon as I walk in the door about what is for supper. I take this book with me to work to figure out what's for supper. So far everything I have fixed has tasted good. I definitely recommend this book to any busy person.
Rating: Summary: Kathi S. from Poughkeepsie, NY Review: Several people at my office are on a low-carb diet, and we have found that it takes effort to maintain our weight losses. We discovered that boredom, expense and unavailability of certain ingredients make it difficult to even want to shop, nevermind cooking! Dana's books give us choices for every night, as well as ideas for lunch and snacks. She lists easy-to-find, generally inexpensive ingredients, and she speaks in a breezy, but very informative "girlfriend" style. As a diabetic, I do have to watch fat calories and too much of any food, but her recipes are easily adaptable to people on restricted diets and never overwhelm me. I either choose my dinner/lunch foods sometime during the day or the night before, which is less anxiety-producing for a baby-stepper like me. Dana's books are so "do-able" for all the people you may feed each time. I am really glad I bought them.
Rating: Summary: My new favorite cookbook Review: So far we have tried 6 of the recipes from the new 15 Minute Low-Carb Recipe Cookbook and I have 3 more to try this week -- and as all of them have been "keepers" so far, I know that the others will be also. It is great to have quick and easy recipes that have fantastic flavor that the whole family can enjoy. And having almost all of the ingredients in my pantry or freezer already is a real bonus. This is my third book of Dana's and I know I will be buying any new one she comes out with as well.
Rating: Summary: Only the best cookbook EVER!!! Review: One thing I hated about my low carb diet was that I got bored very fast. My friend bought this for me for my birthday and I swear I have made a meal with it just about every night. The whole family loves it too!!! For the first time in our experience with the low carb diet, we can all agree on a meal and find it totally delicious. I recommend this book to everyone on a low carb diet, especially since you hardly have to go to a health food store to get the ingredients! Just about every ingredient is at your local supermarket.
