Summary: I liked it!
Review: For once, a DIFFERENT point of view on video poker! I don't get to play that many times a year, but I know I've always wondered how those 'experts' do it in Las Vegas. Thanks to reading this book, my suspicions have been laid to rest. Even though I play just 3 or 4 times in 12 months, and I study everything certain people sell and read all there is to read, I never win anything. I now thank Rob Singer for verifying my expectations that these others do not win either.

This author's book is kind of refreshing to read in that he says what he believes and not what most readers want to hear. Good for him. In time he'll probably outsell all the others combined. He travels his own road and does not appear to be afraid of public bashing. One reason is because he is right. Another is because he said he came into this game prepared for all that. Bless him for being so truthful, and I thank him for giving me something to read that once I picked it up I couldn't put it down.

Summary: An "Over The Top" effort.
Review: Having read all books on video poker that I can get my hands on, I really have to say that I was extremely surprised such a book existed. What's this? An author who doesn't simply copy others words down into a different format and publish a book? An author with a mind of his own?

This work has changed my whole attitude towards the game. I haven't a problem any longer telling anyone that I'm an expert play-follower but a loser. No longer do I believe the "Gurus" as Singer calls them, because how is it they win and I don't? My education in the field of mathematics is extensive too, but i lose even with the most dedicated of efforts. I believe Mr. Singer when he says the famous people only tell us they win all the time and that they know "hundreds" of others who win all the time, because they have a stake in their sales of products to players that is directly tied to their reputations. I know thousands of players, and no one wins. This book is so very right on that it hurts. I want more!

Summary: A writer who tells it like it is.
Review: How often do we get to read a writer who's not afraid of his own shadow? How often do we get to look inside our own minds when we read another's work? Well Rob Singer has made these things happen. The Undeniable Truth wastes no time in telling all video poker players why they continually lose. I lose, you lose, everybody loses! Otherwise, as Singer says, the game would not be so very popular among local players in cities across America as it is today. So how does this author beat the odds and win? I had to read his web site to find that out, but then again, he clearly tells us in his book that he did not write it as a magical cure for anything but countering the spoon-fed download we've had to endure non-stop from the long-term gurus for years. Thank God for that!
One point he makes very well in his book is about short-term play. He says we all play only short-term sessions that do not add up into any sort of long-term whatsoever. My college math professor couldn't have said it better--and this is gambling! Godspeed to this bold and fearless writer!

Summary: Video poker for those who want to stop losing
Review: I can't help it. Mr. Singer has opened my eyes for the first time about this compelling game. I was never a gambler until I played my first game of video poker, and now I'm a regular. He is right. There is just so much bs out there that a new player is surrounded by salesmen and woman before they know what hit them. It seems all they want is more of my money every time I turn around, say something, or go to one of the experts sites. It is also true all the math systems are just items-for-sale, because only Mr. Singer has the audacity and foresight to give us the truth that the only way to win is by luck, and the only way to leave a winner is by doing just that, getting up and leave. Thank you, Rob Singer!

Summary: I am utterly speechless
Review: I never thought i would see the day come when someone could actually read my mind. Almost everything I read in this amazing book is just as I've always felt about those nasty little video poker machines. So Rob Singer admits he never won for those 7 years of playing as the sales people, or oh, I'm sorry-EXPERTS, told him was the only way to win? Well at least he has the guts to say that! What about those he calls 'gurus'? Will they ever step to up the wicket (that's 'plate" in this country) and tell us the real truth about their play? I don't think so. As the book says, they'll lose their sales if they do. Take that to the bank.

One shortcoming of this book is that is stays away from the new strategy Mr. Singer has developed that has made him a successful player since he got off the expert train. But his web site vptruth.com has all the info on this for free! He also includes several chapters on what I call the intangibles of gambling.

All in all, while this is probably a very controversial book, I have yet to see another on the subject of gambling that lets it all hang out. Pardon me while I go read it again straight away!

Summary: The Doctor is in!
Review: I'm a medical Doctor, but I have never found the cause for my addiction to video poker until reading Rob Singer's book. Rather than continually pound into the reader that the player must do things this way or it's the highway, Singer straightforwardly tells us not to follow others and to do what we think is correct and comfortable for us. This author is a full-service author. If I want to know why the other experts have said what they do, I read this book. If I want to have a much getter opportunity of winning, I go to his website. If I want QUESTIONS answered, Mr. Singer even answers them, and very promptly each time! A refreshing author in the world of clones.

Summary: A Sight For Sore Eyes
Review: In a few words, it is so good to see there are authors out there who are not afraid to tell us the experts of this casino game of video poker are not only full of themselves, they are full of IT!

Summary: The only gambling book I've ever trusted
Review: Most gambling books (video poker in particular) put the mind into a mathematical orbit. They offer little in reality and a lot of fantasy. Rob Singer on the other hand immediately tells the reader he'll have none of that, and proceeds to knock every "guru" down a couple of notches because of their reliance on salesmanship rather than proof of play. Singer is so believable because he writes the way I know most players feel. The thing is we haven't the boldness to speak out as he does, and I commend him for not being afraid. His book is a must-read for beginner and expert alike.

Summary: It took some time, but this book now makes sense.
Review: When I purchased this book a year ago after reading much of that which Mr. Singer has had to say, I was confused. Not only does this book identify his play as not being according to the mathematics of what the game has been based on, he argues of how the game's well-known experts are pushing a flawed method when they sell their products that are indeed based solely on the math! I was skeptical at best, and I put the book aside.

Recently however I re-read The Undeniable Truth About Video Poker. I have also belonged to several of the chat boards on the game. I now find that Mr. Singer has in his book seemingly successfully attacked the game's biggest names and is winning the battle. I honestly figured he would disappear off the scene after his book hit the streets, but he has become stronger with each passing year. This great book was the predecessor to his rise in power among the top players, if there really are any others besides he himself. While I haven't the funds to play the game according to how the author describes in his book, I and many have certainly learned how NOT to play. I've saved a lot of money thanks to Rob Singer and this wonderful book.
