Other titles in this genre sometimes make the mistake of providing too little depth or detail. Just because the user is new to the subject doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to ignore many of the features of the operating system like modems or networking. This volume is a very rich introduction to the subject, and is packed with genuinely useful, well thought out and well-illustrated examples, with an unintimidating tone throughout. A new Windows 95 user will graduate from idiocy status to power-user status when finished with the book.
