Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A forward thinking, thought provoking read...
Review: -

Why do dot.coms fail?

Read this book and find out. Read this book if you want to successfully compete in e-commerce over the long run.

This book is useful to business people developing or revising an e-commerce strategy.

Using game theory, Peter Small shows how an Industrial Age strategy using conventional business planning is actually a handicap in the age of e-commerce. A strategy involving genetic algorithms and establishing collaborative (not merely co-operative) working relationships has a greater chance of succeeding.

This book is both thought provoking and pragmatic. (The book itself was written using a genetic algorithm.) The business theories are illustrated by drawing on analogies from the film, fashion, book publishing industries as well as Peter Small's own personal experience.

You may be apprehensive about the turmoil of the e-commerce environment -- rife with information overload and hyper-accelerated technological change -- but after reading this book, you'll see these as WELCOME challenges to your e-commerce venture.
