Summary: Better choices available
Review: If you want to learn modeling in teh IT/IS industry, you would be better served by going to another source. Rational is the "King" of UML modeling and their products are much better than this.

Further, if you want support for more database platforms than only DB2, Oracle, or MS SQL then you will want to use a different tool. Try learning data modeling using tools from Computer Associates or Embarcadero before going anywhere near this horribly over-rated software.

Summary: It isn't a book
Review: System Architect 2001 is listed in the BOOK section (media shown as CD-ROM). What you get is a CD-ROM containing the Student Edition, Version 7 of the System Architect 2001 software. This includes a license that can be used only for learning the product, the software with some configuration limitations, and the same documentation (.pdf files) that you would get with the standard product. This includes a Tutorial (202 pages) and a User Guide (182 pages). There is not one page of hardcopy documentation.
