Description:

Don't be fooled by this book's slim appearance, it actually contains a wealth of information that should prove quite useful for anyone trying to work their way through Fox's extremely challenging Aliens vs. Predator action game. A first-person shooter in which you can play one of three very different species (human, Alien, or Predator), this game has a lot of depth and enough unique features to make even hardcore action gamers take notice. Thanks to the well-written strategy guide, you should have no trouble (or at least, a lot less trouble) mastering the art of war as fought by each of the three species. Make no mistake, you cannot play the game the same way for each species. The book points out each species' strengths and weaknesses and then tells you how to exploit them for each level in the game. The one area in which this book seems a bit weak is in multiplayer tips. All of the basics are covered, but only briefly and without much real insight (keep moving, learn the maps, and so forth). Still, if you've played any multiplayer shooters you probably already know the basics of multiplayer survival. If that's the case and you really just need help staying alive in this great (and frightening) single-player game, this book is for you. --Mike Ryan
