Summary: Most difficult to read
Review: It put me to sleep at night. Some of the concepts were extremly hard to comprehend. It was a painful read.

Review: The best thing that can be said about this book is that it identified a need for a new text book.

The book is an updating of an earlier text book -System Architecture- Software and Hardware Concepts by Leigh and Ali. I do not know how old that book is but a lot of the information presented simply does not apply for today's microcomputers.

Some chapters have obviously been updated to reflect current computer designs. Those chapters are complete and reflect current technology. Others are simply painful to read.

As a result the material presented in my course was cobbled together from five other books as well as periodicals - a lot of work.
